Excuse my ignorance....because I was under the impression that when you get knocked out you lose despite what the score on the scorecard states. My Bad!
And besides I commented on the comment "I think a prime Hearns beats any welter in history" which is an opinion but the fact has already been proven that he did not.
By him losing in the 14th does that prove he could never beat SRL prime for prime?
In a fight he was winning on every judges scorecard over the course of 13 rounds. Your comment was much more ignorant.

Typical Flomos. Always in the fantasy boxing where Floyd is the FOTD.
What does this thread have to do with Floyd? Both Floyd and Pac lose to Hearns at 147.
How dumb of a statement is this....I hope you're joking....you do realize he was beaten (TKO) by Sugar Ray Leonard at welterweight?

Hearns can be had if a fighter can get to him on the inside the whole problem for Manny is he is much smaller and not an inside fighter, staying away from Hearns is the surest way to lose to him.
If Hearns can't maintain proper range or lets Manny get into his range Manny could win but even then that is a tough way to win and far from a sure thing even if those events take place.

not if the fight was 12 rounds. hell, Hearns only lost around 2 or 3 rounds in the Leonard fight up to that 12th round. Not that it counts as an 'excuse' for Hearns, but it does bring up an interesting point.
In a world of 12 round fights, Hearns may very well have beaten any welterweight in history. you could bring up Robinson, of course, but aside from him...
Hearns was the overall greatest offensive fighter of all time, and virtually impossible to outbox too. Durability(particularly his chin and stamina) was really his only weakness.

Pacquiao is clearly well outvoted on the poll .Hearns win belts from welterweight right up to cruiserweight .Pacquiao flyweight to welterweight .

This thread has already been done about a dozen times.
Hearns at 147 beats any modern day welterweight, period.
Pac is just too small for Hearns (or Leonard for that matter) and so is Floyd, Mosley, cotto, berto, etc.

Hearns vs Pacman using the same training regiments,Hearns beat him!!Stewart had hearns getting full extention on the right hands, meaning that they were landing well out of Pacmans reach!!If Hearns &"believe me he would",keeps Pacman at the end of his power is not enduring 12 much less 15 rounds to win!!Hearns power keeps Pacman away & off balance & completely ruins Pacman!!Same for Floyd,Hearns wasn't no half dead DLH at 147 he was a huge monster beast who lost only to Ray leonard who was a beast himself at 147!!Floyd & Pacman are lucky to be in a welterweight division where 80% of the top fighters are 5-8 or shorter!!
You forgot to mention that Hearns also had a above average jab to set up his right hand.
If there was anything Steward emphasized on Hearns throughout his career was his jab before the right hand, I think Hearns jab alone could have kept Manny off balance and out of range.
No knock against Manny, I love the little dude but as I stated earlier Tommy takes this.

No top 10 WW of today would give Hearns trouble.... And, that is including Floyd and Pac.
Floyd could give Leonard a little trouble and that is about it. But, he would still lose.
LOL that is exactly how I feel, theres no way around Hearns the only thing the only chance he would have is too take it inside and throw as much as he can (though Hearns chin was very underrated at welter) but in order to get inside he would need to get around the jab which in itself is a puzzle that would take a few rounds for Floyd to figure out and at some point hes gonna get blasted with that disgusting right hand. I do see Floyd maybe going the distance because Leonard was able to handle all those rounds with Hearns, yes I know Leonards chin>Floyds but Floyds defense>Leonards.
