And if not, how will this affect him if the Mayweather fight happens?
"The truth is taking blood out of my body does not seem natural to me and mentally I feel it will weaken me if blood is taken from me just days before the fight."
- Manny Pacquiao
I dont think he is mentally that strong if a simple blood test mentally weakens him, and I can see floyd mentally raping him with words. Floyd will get in his head and have him beat before the fight happens, in the ring Manny will take a physical beating, so mentally and physically I think floyd will take him apart step by step.
We all know Floyd is the most mentally strong fighter in the game and the smartest fighter ever.

game rec game.....that was just the lil' congressman's way of buying more time for his master to come up with a game plan.....lil dude needed more time so thats why the shitty ass excuses that was being given smelled so bad....IMO they was just buying time.
His reaction after the Morales fight was indeed embarrassing and hilarious. I think he's strong mentally to the point that he wants to be 100% ready on fight on, and he'll avoid certain negative things to stay focus on his game plan.
Crushing everyone in his last 12 fights, i think no.....
I think some people in this thread are just really confused and don't understand what mental strength is. Making excuses after a fight is not a show of complete mental weakness, yeah it means you are a sore loser, but I don't see how that shows you lack mental strength.
You don't get knocked out twice and then come back to be rated as the best p4p fighter in the sport while being mentally weak :lol1:. Come one guys think for a second.
I'm not convinced he's mentally strong, I mean we've seen him fold under pressure before. Whether he was young or not it's a mental thing and I dont see the same focus and belief in him that I see in Mayweather. Erik Morales broke down Pacquiao physically and mentally to the point where Pacquiao started crying after the fight. Somebody like that, it's easy to get in their head and I think Floyd will get in his head.
He will beat him mentally then beat him physically.

He's the only fighter from the Philippines that everyone in the country gives a damn about. Just the burden of fighting not for himself but for millions of people requires a hell of a lot of mental strength. He didn't just cry because he lost, he felt that he let down millions of people.
the man started boxing professionally at 16 years of age at 106lbs although he would come in plenty of times under 100lbs all while living in abject poverty in a third world country. He left his home at 12 to live on the streets of the biggest city in the philippines.
No amateur background. unlike floyd.
No olympic pedigree. unlike floyd.
No uncles (two of them) & a father as professional boxers. unlike floyd.
No top rank's careful management to start his career. unlike floyd.
No living in the suburbs in the most powerful country in the world. unlike floyd.
Yet he became what he is today.
You think floyd would be floyd if he grew up under pac's dire circumstances?
You get your answer you fukking flomo?
You must not understand that it is probably easier to be a star coming from the Philippines when someone like Manny can stand out against the obscure talent pool.
In America, there is far more athletes and talent to compete with to get the attention. How the hell does it matter if you live in the States or not when the odds do not favour you becoming as big of a success as Floyd is?
In America there are many athletes and not many are idolized as other countries stars....I am not sure why you think just because someone lives in the States that it must be easy when most people IN America tend to idolize stars from other countries....
Americans usually are suckers for the underdog working hard and paving a successful career-the typical rags to riches scenario is idolized and the more dynamics envolved, the better.....especially if they come from a third world country...
no pacquiao took the last round pretty decisively as i recall...crying has nothing to do with mental fortitude, mayweather has won and cried. pac is mentally very strong, im guessing most of you just jumped on the pac bandwagon with his win over hatton. just look at his run since his loss to erik, its clear hes very strong..in a lot of ways. and im not the biggest pac fan, but lets not be biased here. the kid has mental fortitude...thats one thing pac has, the way he trains, his ambition come on.
Yes. He won that last round in my books as well. He cried IMO because he felt he let everybody down. But you could see he knew he was down in the cards and his only chance was a KO. He went for it like a mad man. Hence, even though he lost, he was still treated a parade like a king when he went back to the Philippines.

I had to laugh at that remark! Top Rank has guarded and paved his career (as well as sculpting his public image) that made him as popular as he is today.
Floyd left Top Rank and became more popular...
I wouldn't say Pac is mentally weak....compared to most people,he has been through a lot.
Is he mentally stronger than Floyd-I don't think so.I really do think Floyd is going to go overboard and have a field day with him-imagine the pre-fight hype and the 24/7...
I think Pac will get very uncomfortable with Floyd's head games.
lol, Michigan may not be close to as bad as the Phillipines but shit.... Michigan is still a shitty place.
No offense Burner but you know what's up with Michigan. I can't believe people live there. :lol1:
Actually just Detroit and Flint are awful
But other than that Michigan has some of the best cities in the USA to live in.
No.
Hes scared of needles and he cant handle being cut in a fight.
come on man ,
someone could say floyd comes into fights with xylocaine injected in his hands so that means he needs that extra reassurance in the ring so he's mentally weak
that statement would be just as foolish
NO ONE gets to the level that floyd and manny without being mentally strong
Fukk where he came from. Its about where you are.

That blood stuff is just an excuse to not take the tests.
He is mentally strong though. Anyone who fights with that style has to be mentally strong because that is a high risk, high reward style. Sooooo many fundamental flaws are in that style, you have to be mentally tough to cope with the damage you can take using that style to fight.

i can't believe people in here just said that crying is a form of mental weakness
we really have some retarded posters in this forum
yeah mentally weak my ass and manny destroyed the shit out of erik morales his next fight.. making the man who outboxed him quit the fight. he then went on a streak winning the rest of his other titles. guess where's the weak minded pacquiao now? swimming in cash and have armies of fan.
There's nothing wrong with crying but to me it showed a mental weakness. Rather than give Morales credit for beating him and asking for a rematch, He made excuses about the gloves, his shoes, the fact that he got cut and a blood test. And then burst into tears afterwards.
Actions like this tell me he is a very mentally weak person because he didnt want to give Morales credit. He behaved like a sore loser who couldnt handle losing. Like I said before there is nothing wrong with crying but iv'e never seen another fighter at this level go into a hissy fit quite like Pacquiao did.
You are right in that there is nothing wrong with crying, but i disagree with you that it shows a mental weakness.
So to you its a sign of weakness for manny to cry after losing. So what do you think of Floyd jr., for bursting into tears just because some fans were giving him a hard time?
I just wish that Floyd jr. had your attitude. That would simply have given Manny the edge. Assuming a person is mentally weak just because he has a tendency to cry would be a fatal flaw to anyone who would face either Manny or Floyd jr. Crying is NOT a weakness. It simply shows one is more attuned to one's emotions. That can be a good thing if used in the right way because it would allow for the person to release such pent up frustrations and thus allow for a certain degree of therapy actually.
I believe that both of them are quite strong mentally because neither of them would have gone to the top AND STAYED THERE if they weren't made of sterner stuff.
