Why does winning the same title 3 times seem more prestigous than one time holder?

All these boxers brag about being "3 time champion" ala Holyfield, even Ali. IMO holding it once throughout your entire career like Louis or Marciano is better than holding it multiple times. 4 times champion isn't something to brag about IMO. because the odds are almost always against them when they try to regain that championship belt and maybe the fact that people love a Rocky type story also plays a huge factor but being a 4 time champion is something to brag about, that is not something everyone can do.
