THe kid is only 17! What you expect?! Manny to go and bulldoze the kid. Take the kid's confidence away already? He was clearly having fun in there and toying with the kid. It's a man vs boy type situation and that's all it was. Manny was telling the kid to throw, was giving him time to setup and throw. He was messin with him. Every time Manny tore into him, he went into a defensive shell and that was hardly anything. I laugh so hard at people who think they can make up any type of assessment from this, how he'd do vs Fraud. I think this kid was more brave than Fraud would be in a fight. That's about as much as I got out of this.
LOL at Floyd fans using this as an indicator.
Manny was not taking it seriously. You don't punish kids in sparring.
I didn't watch this one, but the one without music, you hear Manny standing still and constantly saying come on. He was taking it extremely easy on the kid, which he should.
Atleast Manny shows sparring vids.
damn, when pac steals with that left cross it's like a laser...that punch has developed so much over the years with him. I still think Floyd wins 9 rounds vs him, though. Jose showing good body to head combination ability here, he mixes his punches like Joel Julio but much faster and much quicker back to his guard. I think he would be a tough sparring partner (Benavidez) even as a 250lb Heavyweight just because of how he attacks the liver and has such a good long jab...Jose's jab will evolve into something magnificent, watch.
That's an interesting gym he's from, I like how they have the legends painted on the outside of the building, it adds respect to the game.
After seeing the sparring video, now I know for a fact that Pac will get EASILY outboxed for 12 rounds. Mayweather is going to make Pacman look like he never belonged in the same stage. Mayweather is doing Pacman a favor by not signing. He doesn't want to end Pac's career.
Did you also know that during that minor sparring session that there were two points in which Benavides would either have been put down or out by right hands?
With no headgear and smaller fight gloves, he would have taken a perfect unseen counter right hook over the lazy left to the jaw and gone down. The second time Jose came in and was again caught by a clean counter right which would have hit him right on the jaw too and probably sent him down.

Listen, I'm picking Mayweather to beat Pacquiao but if this video helped you with that decision then you're a retard. Manny was taking it easy.. you can tell that when Pac puts some effort into that offense he has Benavidez by the ropes each time. One thing I also noticed from this vid is that Pacquiao has a good answer to a ducking defense (that Mayweather uses). He steps to the right and throws an effective left uppercut at a weird angle. Pretty cool.
Manny has no defense, he was getting jabbed by the bigger man like crazy, Floyd is quicker, more precise so he will easily connect. :headbang:
Are you serious using this kid as measurement how Pac will fare to Floyd? Pac will finish this kid in one round if he wants too. This kid can do some Floyd stuffs or some other sparring partners trying to mimic Floyd's style. Roach knows very well every habits Floyd during a fight and Roach will draw a perfect plan to take advantages of it. Floyd Sr. and Jr. both know Pac is the most dangerous opponent he will ever face that is why he chooses to retire than fighting Pac. F**cking smart!

Of course if Manny fought that way against floyd jr., Floyd would thrash him for sure. But cmon, its pretty obvious Manny was NOT serious and was just clowning around when he sparred with this guy.
posted some good vids here ou guys may not have seen. I recommend the last one regarding Charley Burley.

Interesting thing. That's what Hatton and Floyd sr. thought when they saw Manny and Roach practicing.
Yet Hatton ate that very same move he commented on.
A single sparring session is far from a good basis to determine a fighter's worth. In fact, it can be downright dangerous making such assumptions after watching just one session, cuz it can make you complacent.
Not saying though that Manny can beat Mayweather or vice versa. Just that its premature to make declarations over a single video.
