Give Ward his credit he did exactly what he intended to do, he pushed Green around...he bullied him and swept the fight, I concede it wasn't greatly entertaining but the bottom line is that it is going to be extremely difficult for anyone to take his title. He's a rare mix of skill, fundamentals, toughness, and has the versitility to fight essentially any style he needs to. The only question about Ward (at least in my mind) is his chin, I haven't seen his chin really tested yet, other than that he's as complete a young fighter as I've seen. The man deserves credit for taking care of business and has earned being respected as the champion he is.

well said...he has good defense as well, so it may be a while before we see how his chin holds up against heavy combat
I was at the fight sat night with my wife, homeboy and his dad. Man, it was a tough fight to watch. Oakland loves and supports Andre but there were points during the fight when the crowd was booing the shit out of what was happening (or not happening depending on your point of view). The dash jab then clutch, push to the ropes and hit inside all night style of fighting is HORRIBLE to watch. especially live. that being said, I got Dirrell winning. My homeboy and I both were wondering and screaming at the fight..."FOLLOW THE JAB WITH A STRAIGHT RIGHT!!!" Andre would continuosly jab and clutch. aweful
Ward is the new B-hop except Bhop started that shit late in his career to compensate for old age. I'm not gonna follow his career after the super six if he keeps delivering such dirty snoozers of a fight.
That's an unfair comment. Are you really comparing ward with B-hop?

After this result I see Ward as a favorite in the Super Six. If Abraham does not catch him off-guard (and flattens him with the Abrahammer), Ward should be able to outbox AA as Dirrell did.
I guess Alan Green couldn't get to his chin. I hope he has a good chin.
Ward rarely gets hit with shots he doesn't see coming and I think both Green and Miranda were caught in headlights when they seen that he uses his body to absorb the impact of his opponents shots. He has been dropped but along time ago
lol I guess I'm the only one that thought the fight was entertaining, to me it looked like a vicious mauling. Green's soul was hurt, and the cats at the barbershop are probably beating his ass right now!!

There is no question Andre Ward is very very good. I had not seen much of him until this tournament but he impressed me with the way he dispatched Kessler. Like Dirrell who is also very talented both fighters adopt unorthodox and unattractive tactics to get the job done. I am not a fan of that but it gets he job done. He hs the makings to be a great fighter. I want to see how he handles getting nailed right. If he has a chin he is destined for great things.
He is a Christian. Thread starter nut hugs muslims.
I don't know why he brought it up. It has nothing to do with the thread
He thinks you hate christian fighters for some reason.
Props to Ward for winning vs. Green.
I could not see the fight (yet), but I intend to do so - even if it was not too exciting (too one-sided). But a 120-108 decision is as lopsided as it gets.
The only minor nitpick I have with Ward is - he is fighting mostly at home. I hope he is willing to travel in the future.
