Just watched the whole thing and saw that push down at the end. That video reminded me how much a dirty fighter Hopkins really is.
If it was just a push that put him down, then he would have gotten back up easily right? That was one of the best thought out feint/block/counter punch combinations in modern ring history.
Deliberately misses wide with the uppercut to draw in the left hook, already has the block set up well before it comes in, and then shoots the big counter with perfect timing and precision. A genuine thing of beauty.
yup agree too dirty and after the Roy fight he is a degrease to the sport of boxing, the only good fight i really enjoy was the Kelly P. fight
Hilarious to see a Tito fan call Hopkins dirty. When Tito slams Vargas with intentional low blows whenever the fight momentum starts to change it's "being a rugged survivor who will do anything to win", but when Hopkins pulls his much more minor tricks it's "a disgrace" (degrease :lol1:)

Alot of fighters push down when they hurt you and besides that push didn't cause a KO a punch did.
I mean it is what it is, it's the way he fights, and the referees don't do anything about it, ala Holyfield and his head butts.
You should watch B-Hop vs. Echols I and II. Echols wasn't having any of that. Echols was complaining about B-Hop holding and hitting to the ref, and during that coversation he whacked B-Hop with a hard right hand, B-Hop landed one in return. Then B-Hop turns Echols, and drops Echols with a hard shot behind the head. Can't remember which round but Echols tries to adjust his trunks, B-Hop goes in to land a right hand and Echols body slams him; messing up B-Hop's right shoulder. B-Hop couldn't use the right hand for close to 2 rounds, doctors asked him if he wanted to continue, he does (I believe B-Hop was faking). Later on, B-Hop then lands a straight right hand knocking Echols out of the ropes.
Not to go off subject, but that's what you call handling your own business, as Roy Jones once said.
That, or end up looking pussy in front of millions of viewers. You think Winky's constant bitchin' was gonna do anything? You don't think Kessler should have fouled Ward?
IT'S A FIGHT MAN.

It's up to hopkins to break the rules and the opponent to do something about it? LOL.

People hate that about him. Me? I love that stuff. It's up to the opponent to do something about it.

Thing I hate about Hopkins is that cheating crap he does though. That holding and hitting at 38 seconds is BS.

I swear that when it comes to ring intelligence, B-Hop is up there with the best of them. What's so unique about B-Hop is that even in his loses, you just knew he had the correct game plan to win. Just that he didn't have the stamina to carry out his game plan. I remember watching B-Hop vs. Glen Johnson and just thinking to myself "Does this guy have unlimted stamina?!".
Even the commentators were like "This guy could probably go 18+ rounds", don't remember all too well but of course they were being sarcastic. Now look how underrated he has become, that's the main reason I don't even get involved in topics having to do with Hopkins. People love to hate.
Bernard hopkins has implemented throwback elements:
That inside right hand at 1:22 (in the GP highlights) is a thing of beauty, as well as a carefully timed optical illusion.
IMO a greater technical fighter than floyd mayweather.
