Immediately, talks of a rematch with Manny Pacquiao filled the New York air. But, Manny is 'locked' in a soap opera with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The other name to pass across the lips of the boxing nation was Antonio Margarito. Margarito was responsible for giving Miguel Cotto the first loss of his career. Since then, Miguel has always speculated that Margarito might have cheated. Margarito's promoter, Bob Arum, passes this off as internet rubbish and that Margarito has never knowingly cheated. Arum also says that a rematch between the two is a possibility. However, Margarito doesn't think Miguel will fight him. A photographic review of the first encounter between Margarito and Cotto "I don't think Cotto wants to fight me again." Margarito told this reporter. "Cotto was not only affected physically, he was also psychologically battered. I've been told that whenever my name is mentioned to him, his face drops. We crossed paths in Dallas and he was afraid to face me, he would always turn away or walk towards another direction. Who knows, maybe with Emanuel, he might get the courage to fight me again."

Margarito, why doesn't he talk about him redeeming himself vs Williams or Mosley???? Why does he continue 2 play the dumb role and act like he never knew what his "father figure" trainer was doing 2 his wraps???? How come people think Cotto is scared of him???? Cotto, expressed interest in fighting Manny Pacquiao and Pacquiao kicked his ass worst then Margarito. And Cotto would have a WAY better chance of gettin ****ed up again in a rematch with Pac-Man then Margarito. But 2 every1 and Tony, Cotto is scared of him. That's stupid. Miguel was givin it 2 Margarito. vs Pacquiao, he was just hangin around for the first half and then just tried 2 survive the last half. If he lacked any courage, he would say Hell ****ing No When Asked About A Rematch with Manny don't you think???? Instead it's Tony Tthe Construction Worker that's dismissed and you idiots think its because he's scared of him. at this point Margarito is just livin off of Cottos name and Miguel isn't interested in helping him a make a buck. Its been over a year, what's the hold up???? He's being punished for what he did isn't that what you wanted and im sure the second Arum puts together an actual fight he'll get the license back. Once that happens he's served his sentence but will the crying stop. Will this unhealthy obsession with punishing Tony after he's payed for his crime end? No!!!

According to real life, Resto took a lifetime ban. Tony's already fighting. The reason? He did nothing wrong. :bottle: Exactly what I don't understand is Resto is on a whole diffrent level of breaking the rules. Resto had the horse hair completely removed from his glove. Tony had a knuckle "pad" that even Emmanual steward "cottos" trainer has said was most likely being used to "protect" Tonys hands and not to actually cause damage. Is it still cheating? yes! Does Tony deserve to be suspended? Yes!!!! But this whole bullshit about Tony taking smalller purses is just plain fuking stupid!! You don't punish someone and once they have served out their punishment continue to punish them some more. For some reason a lot of you have this need to get "revenge" against Tony which boggles my mind because he never actually did anything to you personally.

I don't really care. The point is, they never found anything, no plaster, no coated wraps, nothing. Just a pair of used knucklepads that a lot of fighters wear in the gym to protect their hands. Don't you think they would've suspended him for life if he had done what Resto did? Come on man. Be serious. You must care, you've replied to two of my posts. They found a substance consisting of various elements, so they did find something. That something caused panic when Richardson pointed it out. Hardly an innocent reaction, or a reaction which suggests the incident should be downplayed. Would the Commission have suspended him for life had it been more serious? Well, boxing commissons are hardly stalwarts of morality; anyone who knows anything about boxing knows that. So the answer is, very likely, no. Furthermore, Barrera called on his country people to not downplay the incident, and said any suspension should be global, to prevent him from fighting anywhere. Again, I have to take what the likes of Richardson and Barrera say seriously, and I'm sure people will understand why their opinions, in my mind, supersede that of 'Jack Burton' on an Internet forum.

fight was agreed to for after the mosley fight regardless if margs won or lost. team margs ****ed that up by trying to gain an advantage against a fighter considered at the time to be past his best. if this was true and cotto was scared of margs why would he agree to an immediate rematch with the first fight so fresh in his mind??? margs knows cotto doesnt want to give him a payday but by insulting him and questioning his manhood he just might goad him into a fight. i say make it happen here in new york i would lve to watch that fight live

Due to how real and respectful Naazim Richardson is (evident in 24/7), I have no doubt in my mind that his version of events is entirely truthful (eg. how Margarito's camp panicked and reacted when Richardson caught them, etc.) and that cheating was knowingly occurring. I realise it's very easy for people to sit behind their computers and big up Margarito, and post smileys at his statements, when he takes digs at Cotto, but let's see how much you're laughing when you're in the ring with a man with plaster-loaded handwraps. This was extremely serious, and it's been taken far too lightly. Cotto should say he'll fight Margarito, but on one condition; Cotto fights with the loaded handwraps this time.

Some people have no principles, so it's understandable they would be OK and give Margarito a pass for his cheating. Others, are the more upstanding sort, and it seems Cotto is one of those. He'd happily face Pac again, who busted him up even quicker than Margarito, but he doesn't feel Pac is a cheating piece of scum.

LOL at Arum saying that the cheating is internet rubbish. I guess it was the internet that put plaster on his wraps. Arum is a hypocrite you can't believe a word he says. Let this loser talk all he wants. He's just begging for a payday he knows that without his plaster against Cotto he'll get his ass beat and he wants enough money so that he doesn't end driving tijuana cabs. If he wants the fight so bad then let him agree to only getting paid if he wins.
