Why the hell does Cotto back up after landing two good jabs ?

WTF is up with dude. His jab is $$$ in the early rounds and whenever he lands it flush he immediately stops for a second and tries to admire what he just did(that's my impression). I mean, wouldn't y'all follow it up with a power shot instead of backup, stop and admire the fact that you were able to snap someone's head back or get them 0ff=-balanced ? Miguel did it in the PAC fight, after he landed a good jab, he stopped. Last night, his jab looked even better and he did the same thing, he stopped after landing two succesful jabs in a row and it gave Yuri to recover his balance, lmao.

Cotto fighting more defensively seems logical to me, Cottos been caught with, and hurt, with alot of good shots. The first good shot I remember him taking was years ago, vs Chop Chop Corely. Corely stole him on the temple with the lead right hook, and seriously disrupted his equilibrium. Now that he went through the cheese grater which is Marg and Pac, I can see why he's fighting more defensively.

I agree with this. Cotto has a history of landing good punches and stepping back to admire what he did. It seems like he has no killer instinct in the early rounds. Later on its different but a fighter has to take advantage of every opportunity because they might never come again. Exactly, man.

i get very frustrated as well when miguel doesn't follow up but instead, "admires" his work. he did it with pac and mosley also.
