Miguel Cotto, the puerto rican star is one of the best warriors boxing has seen since Gatti, Castillo, and Corrales. He is a fighter known to fight, and will fight anyone at anytime regardless of whats in his gloves or in his system.
But at some point in your career you gotta know when to call it quits.
Cotto is a shot, damaged fighter that is one fight away from desaster. He is one fight away from being scared for life and its sad to see threads like, Cotto vs Pac or Cotto vs Berto, Mayweather, Martine etc will be good for Cotto at 154.
For those of us who study boxing knows that Foreman is not on the same caliber as any of the names listed. For example if Cotto vs Pac II does take place it will be no different this Cotto vs Pac I. 154 is only 7 lbs away from 147 and all Pac has to do is come in at 150, the same way Floyd did with Oscar. Pac will retain his speed and cotto will be heavier thus slower in exchanges with Pac.
Pac, Floyd, Berto, Martinez would turn cottos world upside down and I would hate to see Cotto end up like Roach or Ali. Cotto has the heart but his body won't let him fight on that level anymore. Cotto can continue to fight lesser opponents like foreman and I will respect him for that, but to get in the ring with a fighter other then that is complete suicide!
And being a shot fighter has nothing to do with age. Its the amount of battles youve been in. Margarito, Clottey, & Pac have taken everything from cotto except his name!
Yeah, he did far better than I expected. And Yuri did far worse. But I def wanna watch again and see how Cotto looked on the tube.
hbo showing the replay right now it was great being at yankee stadium watching a box match something my grandpa used to talk about
i got you homie im doing that right now i admit he is not the same fighter but that guy always fought either coming forward or mixing it up, i like how patient he was........what i do know is he outbox yuri

I was there as well, swizz - will watch it again and see if I see what you did.

i never really disagree with you but this time im have to even rjj said he was quicker than expected i was at the fight and than watch it when i got home on dvr and before i listen to your opinion, ill take rjj

He might not be the same fighter but as soon as Cotto touches Bertos chin It's good night.
yup berto would fight the same way he fought urango hit and hold
He was slow. When someone is constantly on the move, you take the power off the punches and throw with more quickness/speed. Cotto was slow last night, painfully so.

First....ur post gives me the runs, and I should sh!t in ur mouth cause of the sh!t your talkin
2nd- u will never pay to see him again, how about we pay to never see u post again, u prob sat in the nose bleed seats that sold for like $5 and u complaining, do US a favour and DONT pay to see him again, just don't go suckin his cock when he wins his next big fights
3rd- like dude said show us proof he's shot, 2 looses and now this??? I bet ur Pacquiao fan too huh lol
:bsflag::loser::buttkick:
Cotto aint shot, he's on the slide but not shot, He busts up, swells and cuts bad theses days, his skin just cant take it no more and he dosnt hold a shot quite like he used to plus he's not as quick as when he was younger but he aint shot. Shot fighters dont have the reflexes and timeing Cotto has plus this thing about Cotto backing up if u look back he has done it from time to time throughout his career, he's not just a pressure fighter and a one trick pony
Cotto proved to me that he still had an elite career when he fought closley with Clottey with one functioning eye. Last night also proved to me his future is bright, he looked spry, quick and his jab was on point.
Cotto isnt shot, but I do agree that Foreman is not on the same level as fighters like Pacquiao, Mayweather, berto etc etc
He looked good last night but he'll still struggle against top names. He'll always be competitive and will always come to fight but I just dont think he has the natural skillset to beat the best.
He wasn't slow last night. I think you're undermining Yuri's speed and Foreman simply has a difficult style.
It's simply difficult to plant and punch against someone who is constantly on the run, it takes awhile to figure it out

Maybe margarito, berto,Angulo, mayweather. These are fights i would
love to see.
Cotto is a good fighter and gave us great fights. His time has come you have to accept that.
I don't have to accept anything you post. You haven't posted anything that proves Cotto is shot. He just beat a slick fast boxer in a weight class above his that was 3 inches taller. You need a new gameplan because you don't have a good one bro.
