Another one for you. If Floyd was Mexican, would he be considered tougher, braver, better?

:haha:
He would not be liked as much, that's for sure. In general, mexican boxing is based on the warrior mentality of always coming forward and attacking. Floyd's defense first style, although very good, would be seen as cowardice and boring.
Is that Bravery or Idoicy, hmmmmmmmmmmm.
When is the line crossed between having balls and being stupid?:thumbsdow
If he was Mexican he would not be as good. He would be a face first brawler with 5 loses already.
cmon loc that was uncalled for, but sice u brought it up, its still enough to make the most elite from the PR quit

"......damn....i wish i was Mexican" - FMJ
I don't know. A lot of my black friends are on Money's nuts now, and some of them have only seen 1 or 2 of his fights. Whether people like it or not, his 24/7 antics do attract viewers.

Yeah 15 years ago most of the Mexican fighter who are successful now are all very well rounded fighters. The whole face first brawler thing has come and gone in Mexico.

I still think its funny that you idiots actually think that Floyds nationality/race is what made him what he is today. Floyd made Floyd what he is today just like everyother god damn fighter on the planet.
Floyd being black just means that his skin is dark thats it and his nationality had nothing to do with it either.
Floyd is skilled because he just is the end.

If He's Mexican...
He would have turned Pro at age 16. During those times Floyd was being schooled by Martin Castillo. He would have 5 loses by now.
He would have a Series of fights with JMM, MAB & EM at 122-130 lbs weight Class during the Trios Prime at Prime weights and Could've some loses to the 3 Mexicans.
If Floyd's's a Mexican, He would seek a Fight with Pac already.. maybe long time ago. He would have not duck Pac. He would have 2 KO loses to Pac already!! Remember Pac's the Real Mexicutioner!!!
Floyd's Lucky... He was Born Black and in America!!! The American Media was easy on him. He can get away even if He's a Duck!!
Floyd being an american is a ++++++ for him, because of the american people will always favor his fellow american that's why floyd became this popular because he's an american.
I don't understand the question because the idea that Floyd is not popular is a myth created by haters on message boards and boxing "journalists" who don't like him. Which Mexican fighter, other than De La Hoya has sold more than 1 million PPV buys. De La Hoya's two biggest selling PPV fights were 2.4 million against Mayweather and 1.4 million against Trinidad. Floyd has already matched that. How can he be more popular?
People buying your fights in droves because they want to see your ass getting handed to you does not equal a beloved fighter.
But it does wonders for PPV stats.
What does it matter Mexican or Black either way they would be minorities in the United States.
I hope this isn't another thread where someone is trying to convince everyone that somehow Black Boxers are more persecuted than every other race of boxers because if it is that just further justifies the sterotype that minorities in the US are nothing more than crybabies who are just looking for a free ride.
Common sense homie. He got cought trying to cheat against a guy Cotto beat. Why would he do it against Mosley but not in his biggest fight against Cotto? Makes no sense but hey this is an old story.
Yeah but Puerto Rico always loses their big fights with Mexico. Trinidad is the only exception, and he had loaded gloves too lol. It's funny cause both guys were caught by Nazim, and both eventually got KTFO without their hand wraps.
As for Floyd, he would be loved in Mexico like Marquez is loved in Mexico, only slightly less entertaining. lol Mexicans wanna see fighters who go hard, they love the beat downs. I mean it took Marquez years to become beloved in Mexico it seems like. And all his fights are far more sexy than Marco Antonio' Barrera's.
