Do you think it will be white wash for Pac or Floyd or do you think it will be a close competitive battle?
Im interested to see the thoughts on this as a whole with the forum.
Physically these fighters are even. They are both fast, both strong , both good fighters.
I think overall Floyd is the more polished better fighter and Pac is the more explosive fighter.
However what separates these two isnt skill or speed or resume. Its smarts. The smarter fighter will win.
What I have come to realize is that Floyd doesnt fight with his fists he fights with his brain. Watch the Shane Mosley fight. The adjustments he make are so ridiculous. He gets hit with 2 huge right hands in round 2. Shane goes the next 30 minutes without landing another right hand.
Adjustments. Floyd has that down to a science. He will find a weakness and poke and prod at it until his opponent is mentally and physically beaten up.
Against Pac will be no different. He will find something that works. Most think it will be the lead right. And to a certain extent I agree that is the pucnh that will light Manny up alot.
BUT.....
Floyds jab is laser accurate and blazing fast. It didnt miss Shane once. When Floyd threw it Shane had no idea what to do. Floyds jab will be important than his lead right. The lead right is always there but the Jab will make that lead right even more deadly when he throws it.
Also watch for body punching. Vs. Lefties Floyd attacks the body relentlessly.
Corley, Judah, and Mitchell got pounded to the body. Mitchell was stopped to the body and Judah was hurt to the body several times. Floyds body punching is nuts and goes unnoticed to the casual viewer. Pacs body will be attacked and hard.
Lastly...
Watch for inside fighting. Watch the clinches. Watch how Floyd maneuvers on the inside. Pac is not a good inside fighter. Floyds is hard to hit on the inside and he can still get off laser right hands and hard body shots on the inside. I dont think this fight will be competitive or close in any shape form or fashion.
Floyd will win almost every round. Early rounds will be Floyds but he will turn it up later in the fight and do more damage.
I got Floyd 10 rounds to 2. Or late stoppage around Round 10.
This is a SERIOUS fight discussion thread. Since one doesnt exist. All trolls who cant breakdown a fight and only want to say "Floyd is God" or "The fighter of the decade rules" will be placed on ignore.
Yeah, that video was the dumbest I've ever seen as well.
I don't log in here often, but I had to because of that video.
Manny absolutely ****ed those people up. Every boxer misses sometimes. Roy Jones Jr fought all "wild and ****" and I've seen him miss punches as well.
Putting a few clips of Manny missing punches and how he has "sloppy" footwork, which is just the way he fights, isn't going to make me think Floyd is going to absolutely devastate him.
Back on topic though, and off of that horrible video...
I don't know who will win, but I can think of a few scenarios that could happen.
Manny could knock him out in the first few rounds, Floyd is a slow starter and Manny has the power and speed to maybe **** with Floyd.
Manny could have a decision. Manny's speed and movement could be too much for Floyd to launch any type of offense against. There's a possibility Floyd will have ring rust and he is aging. Manny has a pretty high work rate and if he can force his gameplan, he could win it... but only if he's faster than Floyd.
Floyd could win by decision. He may lose the first 2-4 rounds trying to adjust. If he can hold it together and figure Manny out, he'll potshot him all night. I do believe Floyd could take it to him though, Floyd does have pride still, even though he does talk about nothing but money. I doubt this will happen though. Like I said, Floyd is aging and he hasn't been a very active fighter or had the killer mentality in a while.
I'd say if Manny doesn't KO Floyd in the first few rounds, Floyd will figure him out.
:dunno: Had Mosley running for his life, beat Cotto, Margs, and DlH to a pulp. Destroyed Hatton in a way that Floyd could only hope to do....Floyd knows what would happen, frankly I can't blame him for being scared.
Floyd..........

After the Pac fight
He would have to lands 200+ punches on Floyd to do that, and it's not gonna happen. Floyd would make him pay anytime he throws his sloppy off balance combos.
that outta be the stupidest video I've seen in a long time as far as all this manny-floyd thing goes to
How is it the stupidest video you've seen as far as Manny-Floyd related videos goes? The video maker is a biased Floyd fan without a doubt, but his slow motion highlights breakdowns were very intriguing to watch.
i think its 115-113 either way....
if one of them is having an off night or gets cut or injured ect and its one sided....
one sided for pac tko mid roundsone sided ofr may 11-1 dec.
Im not sure about one sided, but it should be competive thats for sure. Thats why people want to see it, because these 2 are supposedly evenly matched.
But i will need to see how Floyd does against Ortiz first before i can decide whether he will test Pac.
Let's not only compare the tools and weapons each possess or the physical attributes, but what about the mental attributes? How does one react in certain situations? Or the behaviors?
What would happen if Pacquiao lands a good shot from a weird angle and drops Mayweather to the canvas? Is Mayweather the type to just go downhill from there? Nope, he will adjust and make sure he never gets hit from that angle again.
The thing I noticed about Pacquiao which can be his major downfall is that, that fearless mentality of his. I always believed in boxing, fear is a good thing. And its not being a pu**y or anything because you feel fear. Every man feels fear, some just knows how to hide it. But when you're constantly trying to hide your fear of getting hit, then you will get hit. Pacquiao smacks his gloves together every time he gets hit as if to say "Come on. Let's go!" He is telling his opponent that your punches can't hurt me. But we really know that the punch hurt him. But once you become honest with yourself and tell yourself that fear exists, then you're reflexes become sharper and you're defenses become more impenetrable. Because fear allows you to be more aware. Don't go out there and try to be a warrior all the time.
Yes Pacquiao is physically a beast. He has immense power, crazy speed, a good chin and heart. I've even noticed that he's countering punches now in his Margarito fight. Counter over Margarito's jabs. But mentally, he's not quite there. I've noticed in the Mosely fight that Pacquiao gets frustrated way to easily. If he can't catch his opponents, his flaws start to show. He gets a little wild. If the fight is boring (which I think to the casual fans May vs Pac will be boring), the crowd is going to boo. When the crowd boos, Pacquiao gets even more frustrated. Shane Mosley was too tired to throw any punches as he was backing up and Pacquiao was advancing towards him. Mayweather won't get tired, he will back up and throw counters, and it will add more frustration to an already frustrated Pacquiao. So mentally, I think Mayweather can break him down.
one sided fight in floyds favor, pac has got no skills..he might have a bit of speed and that's the only thing he needs when fighting damaged goods at catch weight..we all seen what JMM did to him..floyd would whoop him silly..floyd toyed around with the man who smashed pac twice..pac has no skills what so ever..everytime i watch him fight or sparr he jumps around like an amateur.
Floyd will take that fight personal simply because it's a Top Rank fighter.
Arum knows what Floyd is capable of.

Yeah, Marquez was never a defensive genius and having slowed down quite a bit he gets hit a lot more than he used to now.

Lol...pretty good accomplishments for a fighter with no skills right? 8 division champ with 4 of them the lineal kind...Floyd did toy around with the man who gave PAC fits. Unfortunately, he not only asked that man to go up 2 divisions, he even had the contract changed at the last minute when he couldn't make the agreed upon weight.
If you want to go that route, PAC smashed Hatton in 2 easy rounds at his best weight when Floyd took 10 while losing some rounds in the process...Lol

Some people say Pac will be countered all night long and this will be an easy fight...Well, that opinion is very valid considering no one has beaten Mayweather.
I have a different view though. I feel Manny will be too much for Floyd. For reference, we can probably use the Judah fight as the nearest comparison. Zab was a very fast powerful southpaw who gave Floyd fits in the first few rounds, even knocking PBF down in the process (Though it wasn't officially counted). It can be said that Manny is way more talented than Zab and he would going at Floyd relentlessly for the entire 12 rounds.
And I don't think PAC will respect Floyd's power too much. He already went toe to toe with much bigger hitters and he never went down.
