You have a problem staying on topic. ADD maybe? cant walk and chew gum at the same time? LOL wasnt it you YES IT WAS that compared JMM Manny and Floyds KO %? Hence is what started all this!
My response to you invalid post....
I didn't compare them I said it was an interesting statistic , do you have trouble comprehending what people are saying , don't hang on a word kid try and figure what someone is saying , the human language in very flexible and is very easy miss construed in a turn based forum .
Your entire demeanor is a reflection of your narrow mindedness .
Nobody asked what a KO% means....lol Stay with the program...Its HOW its calculated . Holy mother of god!!!! heheheheeeeeeeeee! WOW just WOW!
Nobody asked you anything , its called a conversation that has flexibility to the subject , that's what forums are about , your a closed door on an empty head .
You will be surprised of the people that just dont get it....:AOR:
when asked in this thread how to Calculate % some people said that opposition had to taken in consideration...:AYWOoD: While comparing KO% these brains added this.....lmfao
MY responce...to the compared %
:WORD:
That is not what was said. We were simply pointing out that it is EASIER to get a lot of KOs when you're fighting straight up bums!
I go by fights won because if you lost that to me is really more indicative of the other guys stats and not so much how much power you have or ability you have to ko opponents.
A percentage must be taken over all career starts to be a percentage , a high KO rate does not categorically mean high power , it can also mean low quality opponents .
so i am wrong and should go to school again to learn my math...
fcuk the pussy who made that v.klitschko wiki page. he got 94.9% KO percentage (41 fights, 39 wins, 37 by ko, 2 losses)
Simple math to be honest...
If a guy is say 30-5 with 24 KOs, to get the percentage you'd have to add all the fights win or lose (in this case 35 fights) and divide 24 (which represents the total KOs) by 35 and you'll get a % that you'll need to round off (i.e 0.6857455934). In this case, a dude who's 30-5 with 24 KOs has a 69% KO ratio.
Read the thread; the underlying maths wasn't the issue.
And you don't "round it off", you multiply by 100 because the first stage only calculates one percentile, and you need 100 of them.
retake math 01 or talk to a 6th grader-----either or.
LOL I didn't wanna be rude, but I was wondering how people didn't know how to come up with the number since it's Jr High math.

i asked this on one of the posts here regarding pac and floyd on who has the best offense...
in my opinion, the knockout percentage is the ratio of the wins via knockout to the total wins a fighter has...
a page in wikipedia regarding Vitali's KO percentage...
when you factor in all of the fights (win, lose, no contest, draw), then it should be winning percentage. ratio of all wins against total fights.
i could be wrong... though i believe i am right
Calculating the percentage of a ratio of KO's to wins is more of an indicator or the manner in which the person wins, not their overall capacity to win. The problem with this method is that fighters with 10 wins (10 KO), and 20 losses end up with a 100% KO ratio which is far too flattering.
In contrast, calculating it in comparison to all their fights is a fairer representation of how they do overall - it shows their ability to finish fights early in comparison to all their fights, no matter the outcome.
Thing is though, KO% doesn't mean a whole lot and is just a statistical construct for interest, so you could argue it either way.
