In your opinion will this give the edge to Floyd when it comes to all time rankings? There was a chance for Floyd to end up like Roy vs Tarver but he took not 1, but 2 big shots and ended up dominatint the fight. Roy got nailed with the 1st really big shot in his career and it was over. I know Hopkins hit him in there 1993 fight, but that was 1st time someone just loaded up and caught Roy and it was lights out.
Shane put everything in to that right hand and Floyd took it and ended up winning the fight with ease.
Actually, I think Floyd's chin is very weak, which is the primary reason he fights so defensively. He very seldom gets hit with any big shots, but in these few instances in which he does, he seems to always get hurt. He's just so smart that he knows to hold on until he gets through it. He got hit with 1 big, flush shot against Mosley and was hurt, but I don't remember him being hit flush again for the rest of the fight.
This is 1 dumb ass post!!!!
Floyd's chin is solid.
It's impressive that he is such a defensive minded counter puncher, but can still take a shot to the chin with the best of em.
He took 2 of Mosleys best shots and even though he hung on for dear life he didn't panic one bit. The other 10 rds were hard to watch. Shane only had 6 minutes of fight in him.

Are you ****ing dumb? Floyd is 33, at the time Roy got KTFO he was 35. They are about the same age so get it right. The TS should never mention Floyd with flukes like Roy Jones jr....
age does not always determine if a fighter is at his prime or not.
just look at cotto, he hit his prime during the marg fight and lost it that same night. he's in his late 20's but past his prime.
roy jones jr. before moving down from heavyweight was a BEAST btw.
watch more boxing my friend,
you're looking pretty retarded with these posts
thank you, this mans understanding of the sport obviously isnt up to snuff.
roy's chin wasn't granite but he could take a punch reasonably well
floyd has been hurt before against Corley i don't think his chin is that solid but his ability to stay calm even when hurt is incredible though
I Agree with this.
He responded very well after being hit with two good shots. But mayweather isn't the first person to ever be caught with a big right from mosley. I would suspect his chin isn't as good as some people claim. He does respond well after being hurt though.

1) tarver was still in his prime when he fought rjj, mosley wasn't
2) rjj was coming down in weight, floyd has never come down in weight
so you can't compare rjj/tarver to floyd/mosley.
one big shot wont take out floyd....nah that aint the key. its accumulation of punches that will do him in. and that my friends is the only way to beat Floyd Mayweather, cause you aint gonna outbox him, right.

Roy a fluke:chairshot...........RJJ is an elite........one of the greatest to ever lace up the gloves..........
Roy had been caught long before the Tarver fight. People keep forgetting that Roy dropped 25 pounds of muscle at 35. That is ludicrous. Stupid, but if he didnt do it, people would be hatin him even more. Look, Roy took plenty of good punches prior. Ruiz rocked hjim Toney hit him well, Tarver hit him solid in the first fight well. Clinton woods, et. Listen, before people make assonine threads, check facts and history first. My goodness.
Damn is Roy ****ing you? You are all in your baby feelings this morning. Roy was a ****ing fraud. At his first moment of adversity he folded...Fraud ass Roy!!!
I feel the fact that Floyd will never stick around waaaaaay passed his prime will ultimately help him and hurt Roy.
The fact that he took the big shot doesnt mean as much to me because Floyd is closer to a prime fight than Roy was at that time. IMO.
In the end Floyd will have the better looking record with better looking opposition on it w/ an excellent chance of never being knocked out in a fight.
That to me will most likely keep Floyd Ranked higher all-time.

It's his fundamentals that seperates him from Jones IMO, Jones has no fundamentals to fall back on, Mayweather has.
This pretty much says it all for me, RJJ took shots previously before the tarver fight so i wouldnt judge or compare him to Mayweather taking Mosley's shot. Jones had nothing really to fall back on.
Jones took big shots from Toney and Ruiz. He had no problem taking big shots before coming down from heavyweight.
I said the same thing. When he came down from heavyweight back to 175, he was never the same. Also look what happened to Chris Byrd when he did the same thing. Something about dropping weight does something to the body and it ain't good for a fighter.
lol!! you compare that to the left from tarver?!
I'm not gonna argue, but i'll tell you one thing WATCH JONES VS TARVER I. Plus jones never been hurt as a middleweight (his natural weight).
