Katsidis Marquez

Marquez isnt on the slide, he just lost to the #1 fighter in the world. Before that fight he had his 2 career best wins against Diaz and Casamayor. I think he beats Katsidis just because of styles, Katsidis doesnt have the skills to beat him. However Katsidis power could make it interesting... If you've seen Marquez when he was younger compared to how he is now, it's clear that he has slowed down perceptibly.

The danger for 36 year-old Marquez is running out of gas late against a wild free-swinging puncher like Katsidis.

it was close, but i think the problem in the first was that Marquez let Diaz fight too much, he needed to box him more. he knows his style now and i do think Paulie has taken something out of Diaz. Marquez should be able to handle Diaz, not with ease, but he's just the better fighter in my eyes, namely his experience and technique. The problem with Katsidis to me is that he's pretty sloppy you know, and Marquez can box. i was blown away by his agression and just all out force. but i think Marquez knows what to do with that.

if Diaz wins, i would agree that Marquez's career really is over. Why the first fight was very close until the knockout? Or do you think Paulie beat what was left of Diaz?

Juan Diaz could pull off an upset and we could be seeing Katsidis/Diaz II.

Marquez should dominate but we haven't seen him fight since he went up to welter so, he's older and inactive for too long, that's a bad combination. I still have him winning but he might struggle more than expected.

Most likely Marquez will have way too much skill for Katsidis, but with Mick you know you get the best possible effort on the night, regardless of who or where he is fighting. You never know, Marquez's wars may take their toll, and when that happens Kat is literally the last 135-pounder in the entire world you want to be in there with.

yeah i also see Marquez taking Katsidis apart, i don't understand why ppl think he's past it by now. the dude had too much weight on him against Mayweather, so he wasnt the optimal Marquez. he'll dance circles around Katsidis i still believe. but i guess he's gonna have to prove it against Diaz first.

It really depends on what Marquez has left in the tank. He was a great fighter but father time waits for noone and Freddie Roach must have spotted something if he was interested in him fighting Khan.
