I only started watching boxing in 1994, so I dont know about whether or not their were any pairs of brothers that were both great years before that. The two that are obvious to me know are the Klitschkos and the Marquez brothers. Who do you feel has had the better combined career between these two sets and why. Also who else should make the list. I know that Anthony and Lamont Peterson are out there, but have yet to really hit the limelight and hit the level of Jaun and Rafael. Thoughts?
Mike and Tommy Gibbons
This and by a quite a bit. Almost all of the other brother combos feature one great fighter and one "he was alright." BOTH Gibbons are blow away HOFers (and below Heavyweight, you usually had to be great to make the Hall). That's what makes the Marquez brothers remarkable; they'll both go the Hall someday and both will be acknowledged as great...
...just won't have the number or depth of wins the Gibbons boys did.
Boy oh Boy, are you DUMB.......... I was in boxing before your grandfather ever saw you.
How do you think I have all these names in my head........????
Gene and Don Fullmer, both well known, especially Gene. Carmen Basilio also had a brother boxer, I think Joey?..... Then Fritzie Zivic and brother (can't recall name)
Max and Buddy Baer.
lolz. So far in this thread you have contributed that Ricky Hattons brother is actually his dad, and that my avi is of me not Joe Calzaghe.
Then you seem to think that by naming some boxing brothers it gives you some form of credit.
Guess what, it took me about 4 seconds to google this thread, plenty of names I could shamefully claim I'd thopught of myself.

Bottom line: You thought Hattons Brother was called Ray, and that the person in my avvy is me,
hahahahahahaha
I could go on ANY message board in any topic and google the odd fact to look knowledgeable. however in this case you have no outs left. Idiot.

Sorry for "hiccups". Abe and Monte Attell. I think I'd better stop here. And I think there were actually THREE Zivic brothers, not two.
That isn't me, it's Joe Calzaghe. Doubt you've heard of him though, you're clearly not a boxing fan.
NOOB PWND.

You look so desperate in your picture with "your tongue hanging out", that I thought I'd give you a little laugh. I'm surprised you caught it. if I'd said "Magic Matt" you still wouldn't have reacted.

There aren't many I can think of usually one brother is successful the other isn't like Hagler, Pacquiao and Cotto.
Floyd and Roger had a chance in the sense that if you changed key losses to wins they would be held to a higher standard in people's memories.
Considering neither Klit has beaten a really good fighter then they can both be discounted from this thread.
I am not a fan of the Klits, but they have fought everyone available except Haye and Valuev. The whole point of this thread is brothers who have both done well in boxing, the Klits do hold three of four belts between them, and are both undefeated in quite some time.
miguel cotto and his brother (cant remember his name) but he lost recently to saul alvarez.
Yeah, the other Cotto looked like he could be really good if he dropped to 140, he should be able to take off 7 pounds and get some good fights. The Alvarez fight was at 147 and Cotto was not in the greatest shape but still gave it a good try.
Massive lol at Ray Hatton!!!!!

I guess i needed to mention the other brothers that won 2 World titles in 2 different weightclasses EACH.
Dodie Boy Penalosa and Gerry Penalosa
Good shout!
There were a very good pair, Tommy and Mike Gibbons, Ray and Floyd Patterson, Randolph and Dick Turpin, Brian London and a brother (forgot name) Jim Jeffries and brother ( I thnk name Mike) Ricky and Ray Hatton, Manny and Bobby Pacquiao, also Michael and Tokunbo Olajide, but the Klitschkos are far more successful.
And there are several families who had 3 or more boxers.
i think its matthew hatton
There were also Mike and "Twin" Sullivan, well known middleweights.
And I bloody well forgot all about the obvious Spinks brothers. How the blazes did I do that! Also a Canadian family of 4 -I think- brothers the eldest of whom was a world champ, who spent time in Jail for sexual assault on young relatives (daughters??) sickening.
I hope he's still there.

i remember his daddies names.
