Is this like Khan fighting Maidana??
Khan obviously thought Paulie was the Clitsko in his class. Khan is a good boxer but not good enough to be making that statement!
Whao i dont like Haye but you cant call him a hype job......he was the unified undisputed CW champ. He may not have proven himself as a HW but he is no hypejob
He was not the undisputed champion at Cruiserweight because he never held the IBF title. And big whoop he fought an unimpressive total of less than 6 minutes as the Cruiserweight champ. And he tends to be praised more so for what comes out of his mouth instead of what he has actually accomplished in the ring, which in reality is not all that much. So, in my opinion that can be defined as being a hype job. And as far as Khan is concerned he beat Paulie. Who in my opinion is a highly overrated fighter and really not all that good of a boxer. So, it really is not that big of a deal.
i watched the fight twice with dukes commentary and he didn't even say anything that negative, he praised khan plenty of times. he just knows what he's talking about, and is hard to please. ive seen him do commentary on froch's last 4 fights, and he is far more critical of him.
you can tell its nothing personal though, he just spots technical flaws in fighters, like froch's flaky defense and low left hand.
i think khans a good fighter and want him to do well, but i have to say he reguarly comes across as a whiner. what does he want mckenzie to say - it was a performance worthy of ray leonard?? sorry amir, it was good, but not that good.
I am sick and tired of Khan thinking he has a right to enforce pro Khan views onto the media. He did this with all British boxers should support eachother. Why? It is an individual sport. Froch and Duke are entitled to their opinions ,we all saw the fight and can make our own opinions. Personally I think he did well against a hand picked opponent.
khan stop being such a girl worrying about commentators, let them do thier job. not everyone in life is going to ride your nuts and tell you your the greatest.
did khan just compare malignaggi to a klitschko :nono:
I Used to train at Duke Mckenzies gym back in '06 and its true; the guy never had a positive thing to say about Khan; Maybe a little jealous of his success; i heard his brother was a bit of a Pakibasher aswell; maybe that might have something to do with the negative commentary lol
jealous of his success are you stupid dukes a 3 weight world champ lol :wtf: you on about kahn will do amazingly well to achieve dukes records

haye should stop ducking klitschko like floyd should stop ducking pac.
damn, when are you going to sort out your thread titles, man ? This is an article about Duke Mckenzie and the ITV commentary team, yet you pander to the idiots that are ruining this place by making this thread about one pretty obvious thowaway comment at the end.
I quite like the Duke, and I'd rather have his honest opinions as a former boxing champ than the sickening fawning over any British boxer that we have to endure from the the Sky team.
duke is a joke at scoring he says stupid things hes like johnny nelson on sky a complete twat man nelson had williams beating quintana in the 1st fight lololo:wtf:
HOLD ON!!!!
Just because you give the fight to ITV, that means they got to lick you arse?
What is Khan on? I wish he would just shut up for once.
He really does sound like an idiot. Personally, I hate his Bolton accent. He comes across as a bit of a dimwit when he opens his mouth. Bit like an Asian Frank Bruno.

I have to say I totally agree with Amir. I was thinking exactly the same when I was watching the fight on ITV. I found that while Amir was landing some great shots and boxing smart, Duke was ignoring and not commenting on this, and instead praising Malignaggi, even though he looked like he was struggling and throwing some ragged punches on Amir's Gloves. His commentating in the fight did not give justice to Amir's fantastic performance that night, and it certainly didn't match up with how the judges were scoring the fight, and how others (including the American commentators) saw the fight. For one, with Dukes commenting you got the false impression that Malignaggi was doing better than he was, and so when the doctors appeared ringside to see if Malignaggi was able to continue, it didn't make sense. I think they should replace him, and bring in someone who can commentate on exactly what is going on in the fight. In this fight, Amir dominated Paulie from round 1, and Duke did not translate this to the public at home watching the fight.

read the full article, Khan never said that. This is known as distortion, interpolation and deceit.
I have to laugh at your obsession with khan fighting maidana.

AMIR KHAN has slammed boxing pundit Duke McKenzie for criticising him during ITV’s broadcast of his world title win last weekend.
The Bolton boxer wowed an American crowd for the first time with an 11-round beating of Yank Paulie Malignaggi at New York’s Madison Square *Garden.
But Khan, 23, was upset with former three-weight world champion McKenzie’s views.
Khan (left), who will this week decide whether to fight again either in Manchester or London on July 31, said: “The American TV network HBO bosses shook my hand and told me I’m a great fighter and very exciting.
“It is great to have them *supporting me but, on the other hand, we’ve got ITV.
“We gave the fight to them – but the commentary from Duke McKenzie was so negative. I don’t know if he has got something against me. I do what I do in the ring and he is going out there criticising me, saying I am ragged and sluggish.
“The thing is, people believe what the commentators say.”
Khan does reckon Britain’s WBA heavyweight champion David Haye should fight either Wladimir or Vitali Klitschko in America.
He added: “If David Haye went over there and knocked out a Klitschko he would become a sensation.”
So is this like Khan fighting his mandatory? Who is that again?

The article doesn't follow on the vein of the title, it's 90% about Duke McKenzies commentary.
The only snippet on Haye, and he isn't even going as far to directly say Haye should fight a Klit next and no one else.
Poor article.
