Taylor, Leonard and Camacho were incredible fast, but Jones could throw fast combinations at light heavyweight.
Fast guys at light welterweight 10, fast guys at welterweight 10, fast guys at lightheavyweight 1
I don't think it's fair to say that Taylor was only fast because he threw with no power. I think he simply didn't have much power because I've seen him hit fighters with his best shots to no effect. He just wasn't a puncher at all.
Hopefully Meldrick Taylor vs Howard Davis Jr. will some day get uploaded because it shows the difference between Davis's speed from a distance compared to Taylor's short combinations on the inside and mid range. Taylor had short arms and wouldn't have been able to "pot-shot" opponents.
Here's some classic Camacho:

probably meldrick taylor...........:dunno:
I have to go by what I have seen. I have only seen Jones Jr. in person out of this list. Even before then, I would list him as the fastest I have ever seen, the second being Shane Mosley. They say Ray Robinson at welterweight was the fastest, but this is relying on old memories of people. I believe Robinson was definitely the fastest of his era, but there's simply no proof of his speed against today's stars.
yeah buddy was a good fighter, but meldrick whipped his ass! btw, meldrick for fastest handspeed till JCC ruined his career...
Taylor was still fast as hell after that, although he was slower at 147. Those double and triple left hooks were nice.
My choice was Roy though. His speed was just unreal. Counter shots, lead shots, combinations with real power behind them, etc...That left hook counter after a southpaw threw the right jab was crazy. Plus he was a bigger guy compared to most of the other candidates, starting at MW and then fighting above.
Taylor did have really fast hands but so did Roy and Floyd. tough one i'll go with Roy by a hair but its a toss up in my opinion. Taylor seemed like he had that heavy handed hand speed he was very impressive.
anybody have a clue of how buddy mc girts speed was, ive seen him only in 1 fight and he was fast, i mighta missed putting his ass on the list, i doubt it cause he didnt accomplish much

After thinking about it some more I change my mind. I go with Roy. I just remember him throwing seven hooks in a row before the guy even threw one punch in return. I don't know anyone who can throw 7 hooks in a row that quickly period.
