I Feel Cotto Has Never Looked The Same After Margarito!

Of course he wasn't the same guy. Anybody would have a bit taken out of him after a beating like he took from Marg. Not only physical but mentally too. Marg also lost a step from that fight. There's no doubt in my eyes his hands were loaded in that fight by the way. The biggest reason Cotto never looked the same is due to his corner situation. I assure you come June when he has Stew in his corner he will look like he was re-birthed! This will be the a new chapter and a strong one @ that. He has a few more strong fights in him.

Just needs an extended rest IMO and we'll see how well he and steward work together

Cotto's decline post-Margarito has been greatly overhyped, but there is no doubt Margs took a fair bit out of him. Still, any Welter that can come out and beat Joshua Clottey belongs in the top strata of the division. I LOL at people that claim Pacquiao beat a "shot" Cotto. Not even close to shot, not even ballpark.

Watching Miguel pre Margarito fight. And he just looked so good. Crisp, Powerfull, Strong. But post Margarito, he just hasnt looked like the same fighter. Struggling and just about beating Clottey and getting stopped by Manny. I think that Margarito fight took something deep out of him, that he could never get back. A pre Marg, Cotto, easy beats Clottey and may even beat Pac. Sad I feel he is past his best....... Thoughts? I disagree. I thought he beat Clottey despite a pretty bad cut above the eye that was the result of a headbutt. You look at pre-Margo Cotto and you see him almost getting knocked out by Ricardo Torres, getting put on queer street by Zab Judah, and looking just as gassed against Mosley than against Clottey, even without the cut. Cotto is the same today than he was before. Pac is just a different type of animal. Cotto is not as bad as he looked against Pac and neither is Clottey. I remember rewatching Pac and Cotto fight tapes before they fought and the fight that convinced me to put my money on Pac against Cotto was Cotto vs Judah. Great post. Especially the part about Cotto being the same as before. He was getting hit before Margarito, just as he was getting rocked and put down before Margarito. The difference is, Margarito was bigger and stronger than any of his previous opponents with an incredible chin who was able to take Miguels best and keep coming forward.

Get the **** out of here, his head looked like a ****ing piñata after fight. No way. His eyes were puffy, but he wasn't really that much worse for wear. Cotto looked like a pizza, plaster or no (and I don't think Marg had it for that fight).

I celebrate Cotto's accomplishments, his courage, and his ability to box. He has fought many types of fighters and continues to challenge himself. IMO he has found a 2nd wind; I believe hiring a technically sound, disciplined trainer like Stewart is the first step. Hopefully Cotto can establish a relationship and gain the confidence needed to compete at the premier level. IMO Cotto is a HOF and a great contributor to the sport.

he looks much the same to me surprisingly. I've seen him get up off the canvas before and KO someone who was unknown but tuff. My opinion of Cotto is a tactical banger who never NEVER gasses out. BUT PACQUIAO WHOOOPED HIS ASSSS!!!!!
