Freddie Roach: "Mayweather Can't Punch At 147" - Agree or Disagree?

Do you agree or disagree with Freddie Roach's assessment when he states that Mayweather "can't punch" at 147? Roach made the statement in the interview posted earlier, check it here. Interviewer: Why at 147 is he (Floyd Mayweather Jr.) pedestrian? Is it the speed factor or is it the fact he can't knock out bigger guys? Freddie Roach: "He can't punch at that weight, it's his biggest issue I think." Roach can talk all he wants, but floyd still beats Pac. I really think Floyd is going to retire undefeated.He's that damn good..

KO to mayweather is a bonus. What other boxers have to do is KO Mayweather because Mayweather has all the skills to win each round!

EXCELLENT INTERVIEW. What I found more shocking is how he said Floyd is flat-footed. I never noticed it before, but Freddie has a point. Floyd still has Fast hands and fast upperbody movement, but his legs are not what they used to be. I wouldn't judge Mayweather's power at ww based on the Mosley fight cause Mosley has one of the best chins in the sport, but he hasn't been hurting or dropping too many guys at ww. Also Mayweather has stood his ground and walked down his last 2 opponents, so it's hard to judge his legs as well. The way i see it, if Mayweather needs to move he'll move, he has just had more success recently standing his ground. It's possible that his legs are going(not gone) but i couldn't make that kind of a judgment just yet.

Mayweather can punch at 147, he chooses his hits wisely. It's usually the type of opponents he fights that prevent him from getting easy KO's.

I think Shane would disagree. The shots Shane took seemed to bother him in the fight maybe more than he expected. Given his condition entering the fight, Shane did well to avoid getting KO'd imo.

Not doing something isn't proof that you can't do something. The majority of people here have not stabbed someone, it doesn't mean we're physically incapable of doing so. Marquez and Mosley could have been stopped if he started stringing his punches together, Zab was on the verge of being stopped until he cheated. He didnt even wobble Mosley or Zab. So need to watch out for PBFs accuracy.

He can hit at 147lb, I wouldn't say he has one hit KO power but his punches are discouraging. Zab Judah would have been stopped by Mayweather if it wasn't for the low blow and rabbit punch. If he started linking his punches up he would have stopped Mosley along with Marquez.

Freddie is playing mind games and general evidence does point to the fact Mayweather has little power at welterweight but I have never thought this to be the case. That man has pop...if he had feather fists, then people wouldn't be so reluctant to throw against him. Example, when people fight Malignaggi, they are willing to walk in and take some shots to get to him....when it comes to Mayweather, people stand there and don't pull the trigger because they are scared of the counter shot. He has very under rated power. The only man who tried jumping on Floyd was Hatton and we all know his answer to defence was to get punched in the head lol. Also I think Floyd has grown into a welterweight much better now and so he has gotten a bit more powerful recently. The punches he landed on Mosley the other night looked hurtful to me.

I hope that mayweather opens up when he faces pacman and just goes to work on him, im getting sick of all this may-pac B-S, and being a floyd fan i feel obliged to dislike pac.... am i the only one who feels like this?

Roach is trying to fool himself into believing this BS. I think he knows Pac has no chance, but he wants to see that money before Pac retires. And really, whats left for pac, whos already running for congress, besides fight Floyd? Theyll fight, Pac loses, and then him and Roach get the big money.

Sure looked like Floyd was hurting Shane to me. But Floyd only has 5 stoppages in his 14 fights above 130. So I think he has pop, but he's just too safety conscious to go for the KO.

I think Mayweather can KO Pacquiao. Counter punchers usually don't need to punch that hard.
