Ok re-watched Shane/Mayorga and did I see things or did Mayo outbox him at times?

Different Shane. Loaded up with every shot and didn`t put his shots together well at all. It took his 5th loss to get him to revert back to what made him great. the mayorga fight was after his 5th loss tonto

shane has always fought better at 147 than 154. obviopudly a few of you just started doing your shane research recently I know I was earlier. Seems to me Shane had about as many notable names on his resume as Floyd. He fought virtual unknowns at lw. Lost five out of 8 career defining fights, beat hoya to get the lime light, but had his flight to stardom wings clipped by four one sided losses shortly after. He beat a past prime Vargas, and a beat up Mayorga gets some momentum but comes up short with cotto.. He's like a more likeable more polished Zab Judah. No disrespect Mosley tribe die hards, but Shane losses he's over with.

Bro, I have been saying this over and over.... Shane fight against Margarito was fools gold, Margarito was tailor made for Shane.... Shane is going to ge his ass whooped! couldnt agree more with you mate. Marg just stood in front of shane all fight, offered no movement at all.

I think hes a great fighter. I wont say other wise. But he does not like when people "box" him. Exactly dont get me wrong he has had a great career but after the mayorga fight everyone was saying he is too old then he got the marg fight and landed some of his bombs on margarito which everyone else has done and all of a sudden he is amazing. The facts are right there look at the people who beat him and how they beat him its not a mystery this fight is very predictable. Who knows though shane could prove me wrong.

he got the W though...kinda likr mr bringing up the time castillo beat floys theie first fight. I mean it happened but floyd beat him the secound time with his "undefeated record" still intact. Its all good right ahaha

thats because shane isnt a boxer. trinidad and oscar and others were able to controll mayorga because they are boxers. shane is a brawler with fast hands n feet but he still a brawler. and whoever said mayorga would ko floyd your a damn fool lmao. and forrest was winning the rematch IMO. he had a real ****ed up shoulder at the time and couldnt use his best weapon jab and was real cautious of mayorga at WW which is the best version of him. he should never lost to him in the first fight

shane isn't the type of fighter who likes to go on the back foot and box a guy, he is like he says himself a power boxer. That is why he struggles when he goes up to 154 because those guys are really big and shane is gonna do what shane does which is try and knock your head off with fast right hands and left hooks. He can box too, and counter well but its really not his style.

Mosley's defense was poor in that fight and he attributes it to blisters on his feet caused by the shoes he was wearing.

Am I the only one who noticed that Shane didn't go to the neutral corner after the knockdown and wouldn't have gotten the KO if he had? I also had Mayorga ahead. Just saying...I can understand if people had Mosley ahead, though. It was a close, sloppy and unpleasant fight. But you gotta admit, Naazim brought back a lot of Shane's skill. The Mosley that fought Mayorga will not show up on Saturday. I think he'll look better than the Margo fight. Expect to see some surprising and unexpected movement from those 38 year old legs, along with some improved speed.

I don't know about outboxing but Mayorga's awkward style made it hard for Mosley. Shane was never a 154 lber anyway.

I just saw that fight like 2 days ago and Mosley was getting outboxed clearly. I had mayorga wining that fight till shane KOd him.

I don't know about outboxing. I was ringside and for the most part I had Shane up 7-4 or 6-4-1 before the 12th as did a few other media people. it was a sloppy fight though

Like what the hell? NO, you werent seeing things. Mayorga also outboxed Vernon Forrest in their second fight. Mayorga may be underrated in his boxing ability, not saying he is top shelf, but he does have pretty good skills, he is just known more for brawling and gamesmanship in the ring. Like when he put his hands behind his back and invited Forrest to hit him in their first fight, that was classic Mayorgo and what he is best known for. BTW Ceilings, I see you are from Michigan, I talk a lot of trash about Mayweather, but if he KO's SSM I will regain respect for your hometown hero.
