i had Froch winning by a point.
I thought he won the last round.
Kesslers attacks often looked good but he missed most of his punches. Froch boxed well early on, and was landing his jab,
Agreed.
One thing's for sure, Froch-Abraham is going to be a do-or-die war. Both fighters need to handle their business and get into the semi finals. I think Froch will be a lil too big for Arthur, who is small of stature and I doubt can push Froch back with the jab like Kessler was effective in doing
This is one of the man reasons I see Froch having a good time with Arthur. Froch is a very big man at the weight, biggest in the tourney and very strong.
There should not be much controversy for this fight. It was close and Kessler earned the win.
Agreed.

His "crap defense" was more effective than Kessler's. Mikkel was doing way more missing than Carl.
Frochy boy, you still upset about your first loss? Paybacks a bitch :usa1:
Froch was backing up all night long, he couldn't deal with Kesslers pressure. Froch called Dirrell a runner yet, Froch was the one running vs Kessler. Backing up constantly trying to counter but failed!
What do you think looks good of the eyes of most judges? Someone who is backing up constantly trying to land counters but misses alot of them. Or someone making the fight and pressing forward and landing on your crap defense!
You think Froch was running?

Froch landed the cleaner shots and made Kessler miss more than vice versa. It seemed like Froch couldn't miss at times even with his slow wide punches. The outcome was pre-determined. If Kessler was competitive and standing at the end of the 12th round, the victory was his. I admire Kessler for fighting valiantly in the face of adversity.
Froch was hurt in round 8 more than Kessler at any point of the fight. He could have easily got put down in that round if Kessler followed up the right flush on Froch's chin.
Yes, I must admit that after having gone through it a second time the only guy that got hurt properly at any point in the fight was Froch after the short right hand flush on Froch's nose. He was very shaken by that shot, but neither guy was hurt or wobbled or whatever beyond anything else. Kessler was knocked off balance with a good right hand earlier in the fight but not hurt by it.
I also think some of the body shots were more damaging than anything else.
Kessler won, 7-5 at the worst. The Brit announcers were pretty biased. I don't think Kessler is as sharp of a fighter as he was a few years ago though.
Right you are mate. You can see a lot of his sharpness has gone. He just seems less fluid, a bit more tentative and his combinations don't seem to flow as well as they once did nor with as much speed and pop.
I could have seen the Kessler of the pre-Calzaghe years winning this thing but not anymore. If he even makes it to the finals, which I don't think I see happening right now, I can't see him beating Ward in a rematch or Dirrell if they fight. He would have a better chance at beating Dirrell than Ward imo but both would give him trouble.
I wonder how he would do against AA? That would be one hell of a fight. Anyway, great fight overall. Brought the Super Six back to the forefront.
I'm so happy Kessler won. Froch finally has that lose he deserved since the Dirrel fight.
I think it was a really close fight, and if i don't think i tshodl have been more than 115-113 for any of the two, that's why i think it should have been a draw, but the local will always have the edge so this is the result. I this exact fight would have been in England, we all know that the winner would have been Froch.
Well...i think we all know that Ward is the best out here, and the only one that has a chance in beating him is Dirrel.
Froch has no business with Ward, and Abraham is tough, but he lacks activity, and if he had problems with Dirrel, imagine with Ward.
