it would be cool to mesure how hard a punch is. just to see who the hardest puncher is in each division. then come fightnight they could throw it up on the tale of the tape.
This is past due. All those other shitty sports have a ton of stats that they use to project some added importance to their garbage.
Frighteous mad it seem more complicated than it is. Would it cost operators per punch? Why not just let them register 3 of their main punches?
they have one. it's called zab judah.
i lol'd at this. yer but that dont mean sh*t come fight night tho, but i would personally like to know how hard certain fighters can punch.
Problem with measuring punch PSI, is the different devices benefit different types of shots, which would make for inaccurate readings based on boxer's styles. Good example is like, Corrie Sanders has a very strong left cross, but his right hook is extremely weak compared to a guy like David Tua, who has a strong hook but a slower cross.
There's currently 2 kinds of PSI measuring devices, the one you saw in the Rocky movie is a bullshit one that you never see anywhere, the only ones I've seen are at most fairgrounds and have a speedbag looking thing, and if your best punch is a hook instead of a cross, you'll get better marks on the machine.
I hit 952 the last time I threw a right hook on one. I seriously doubt that's accurate though. I might hit around 500psi with that right hook.
What fighter has a stronger cross than a hook?? :ugh:

yes i think so even though it would represent punching power under ideal conditions.
