Read this GQ profile on Manny, it's pretty interesting, pretty long (7 pages) but it's pretty addicting after the first page.

Some notes from the GQ profile:
- Article is written before the Clottey bout.
- When Ariza and Roach kept saying that Koncz "cuts Manny's meat" on 24/7, they weren't lying at all. Koncz actually cuts Manny's steak for him. He even tucks him into bed.
- Manny loves watching himself in between rounds at the MGM on the big screens so much that Roach has to slap him at times.
- Pacquiao's dad left when he was a baby. One day, when Manny was a boy, his dad came back for a few hours to eat his dog and left again.
- He left home when he was young because he knew his mom had too many mouths to feed.
- If Manny was considered a hero in the Philippines, his circle of friends would be considered villains: the Ampatuan family (hated his political rival so much he ordered his son to take him out and anybody "with him". That day 57, including 30 journalists were killed) or Chavit Singson, a political figure who found his mistress with a younger man and obliterated his penis with a hammer.
- Many people on Pacquiao's team have stolen a substantial amount of money from Manny himself only for Manny to forgive them because he believed that God told those people to betray him so he can teach them a lesson.
- It costs around $500-$700 per day to eat at Nat's Thai restaurant near the Wild Card gym. When one of Manny's associates told him that they should just buy some Filipino take-out to lessen the financial load, Manny grew angry and told him in front of everybody, "Don't ever mess with another man's livelihood. Now let us enjoy their food."
- The people around Pacquiao are actually scared of him. They're afraid to tell him stuff they believe may agitate him. An example includes when Manny was supposed to throw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. All the details were ironed out. The problem was that Manny never came because no one ever told him.
It's a hugely interesting read and shows Manny in a positive and not-so-positive light.
OK. got ur point.
btw, where u from in the philippines? r u in the philippines or oustide of the country?Born in Manila but raised in the U.S. Currently in the U.S. working on post-film productions.
some of you are going to use this article to trash manny, in particular a few of the usual mayweather dick riders probably got their shots in. but manny isnt any different than Chavez when he was at the peak of who he was. it is what it is and i dont judge him for it.
lol.....you tryin to evade the fact that youre just a poser...you aint a pinoy, if you man up and never try to claim to be a pinoy ever again then maybe ill discuss shit with you about boxing.......but right now, stay away from pretending to be a pinoy...ok?....its insulting.......coolWow, you really can't name another fighter you're a fan of.
then he finally admits.........i give you examples of real pinoys round here, kadyo, chups, peyk peyk mak, tua, toy, pacman777 etc all speak, write and understand the pinoys languugae........you are just a poser to make your post more credible...but youre not a pinoy.....But you never answered my question: what other fighters are you a fan of? And what do you think is their biggest win?
sorry to butt in. But if ur a real pinoy. Whats son interesting with eating dogs? A real pinoy dont miind eating dog just like we eat balut. So why is it interesting if ur a pinoy, eh?I wrote that down as a lead-in to its next fact being that Pacquiao never left home because his dad ate his dog, he left because he knew his mom had too many mouths to feed and him leaving would lessen the burden. A lot of people, even boxing analysts and sportswriters, believe that Pacquiao left home at an early age just because his dad ate his dog. I just wanted to clarify that point. And that interesting point showed that Pacquiao's dad was really an a-hole that never cared for his family. Also keep in mind that this forum is mostly filled with people who are in different culture than the Philippines.
if you cant understand , write or speak like the real pinoys, you aint a pinoy...youre just a pretender....Wow, I doubt we're going to have a civilized conversation because conversations with pactards are cyclical. At least I could have a civilized conversation with a flomo. And one more time, other than Pacquiao, what other fighters are you fans of? And what do you think is their biggest win?
atleast be a man and stop pretendin to be pinoy tho.........that shit is just classless crap ..........pretendin' to be pinoy? Just because I can't write in tagalog that makes me a non-pinoy? Are you f*cking kidding me? I know a lot of other pinoys who can understand tagalog but they can't speak it or write it. Does that make them non-pinoy?
And all my threads aren't about slamming Filipinos. I didn't slam Pacquiao you dumbshit, I was just listing the the most interesting parts of the article, the most interesting parts just tended to be showing him in a not-so-postive light. It's hard writing to you pactards when you don't seem to give a proper response.
bro, he pretends to be pinoy but he aint.......notice why he cant even reply you in tagalog.......Because I don't know how to write in tagalog but I surely can read it and understand it. And I'm pinoy you dumbass.
are you actaully gay, serious question since you have that posted below your avatar?
if so, then that says why you dont find it strange.
but being a hetero male myself and not having any probs at all with gays. i dont want a man messaging me at all, let alone tucking me in bed.
as long as hes a chef(paid worker,) i dont mind a man cooking for me.
but a man mos def will not be tucking me in bed like im a toddler
Floyd Sr has nothing to do with this article so why are you mentioning him
You really think I'm gay like you?
So what's the problem with tucking Pac in bed? Does that prove anything?
And Sr., oh well, anything he says is right to Flomos. Senior started all of this and you're ganging up like if 50 million of you believe someone's guilty, that makes him guilty.
Dude, what is your f*cking problem? Did you ever notice that the only people who have replied on this thread have actually read the article? I only listed those parts because those were most interesting parts of the article. Some people may not want to read the article because it's pretty long. And what else am I gonna list positive that not everyone already knows? The article basically shows that Pacquiao is human after all and that his personality shown to the public is basically media based.
Your pactardism shows through and through in your tagalog post right here. I love Manny, he's my favorite fighter by far, but I don't go riding his dick like you. The writer of the article shows that despite Manny's shady connections and the madness that's around him he still can't help but like Manny.
is this shit forreal..OMG..
he has another man cut his meat?..and tuck him in bed?
they really eat dogs there?
this politician is a corrupt killer?According to the article, yes, Koncz cuts his meat and tucks in Manny's blankets while he's on the plane. They eat dogs there because the poverty there is horrible. This is why Floyd shouldn't compare his poverty to Manny's because Manny's was much, much worse. From what I've read on Chavit Singson, the guy is really one corrupt mofo. He may have murdered some people but I don't really know.

I dont care what anyone says but you are the company you keep.
truer words were never spoken..this goes for everyone...
That was some of the wordiest tripe I've read for ages. It just went on and on with cruft all over the place, as if he were writing a bestselling novel or something.
An interesting read, sure, but really could've done without the theatrical performance of getting the point across. I know no more about Pacquiao than I did before reading it.
Dude, what is your f*cking problem? I like pac because of what he does in the ring, never really cared about what he does in his personal life.. But some of these things are just wild! Hope it doesn't lead to his downfall
As a boxing fan I hope so too. Its good to see even fans show concern about these characters. Any true fan has to see this .........
