Assuming Floyd gets a win against SSM, and he likely will, I think he will skip Paq and call the winner of Berto-Quintana, which should be Berto. As much as I would like to see Floyd vs Paq, I just dont think it will happen, at least not this year because they are too far apart in the issues. I would actually give Floyd credit if he fought Berto, although anyone who has read my postings will know I am not a Floyd fan. If Berto wins against Quintana and looks real good doing it, that is the fighter other than Paq I would most like to see Floyd face after SSM.
i always thought you were objective but i see youa re a full fledge pactard
what did I type that led you to post that?
here is my reply
I can tell you right now that after Mayweather tried to tarnish the rep of his best fighter/cash cow (Arum views it this way)
Again...this is how Arum sees it. I'm not saying I agree or disagree just telling you guys this is his point of view.
....that Arum is gonna be real sh1tty in those Marg/Cotto negotiations. Those fight mosdef won't be happening.
Again...Pac vs Floyd negotiation are gonna get real ugly next time around. That will leave a bad taste in Arum's mouth and if you think he isn't gonna take it out on Floyd if he tries to make a fight with Marg and Cotto, then I really don't know what else to tell you.
Now what did I say in this that led you to believe I was being biased? I'm just curious, that's all.
Mayweather's greed and the best fight out there are finally one and the same; Pacquiao. Other then that & Mosley he would really have to fight a big name at 140-154. I don't think the Berto fight would happen tho. I would say Cotto or Marg but i don't know how Arum would feel about that.

Floyd isn't fighting at 154 again IMO. Just too high of a weight for him. At 147, Berto, Williams, Collazo, Bradley, Khan, Alvarez will all be options. Remember, Floyd doesn't fight every 4 months anymore. If Pac doesn't want it, I wouldn't be surprised to see Floyd wait 8, 10, 12 months for a legitimate opponent to rise up.
Williams is too dangerous of a fight with no money involved. Plus you got that Haymon excuse
Alvarez is way too green (2-3 years atleast) and Khan hasn't even proved himself at 140 yet.
Also with Top Rank being over Margarito and Cotto...you wont see those fights happen either
So outside of Berto (who won't be an option once Quintana beats him) I really don't see anything for Floyd except retirement again.
If I'm a Floyd fan I'm hoping two things happen:
1. Berto beats Quintana
2. Mosley vs May is close enough or competative enought to warrant a rematch.
Anything other than that, Floyd is bascially fukked.

Mayweather vs Pacquaio will be next. I feel as though the NSAC will implement blood testing into there program. Reading a recent interview that kieth Kizer had, It seems
the NSAC is open to change. We will see
pac if the puss boy isnt scared to take the test.
floyd is going to monkey stomp his ass and roach knows it
Please pay attention. The thread subject was "who OTHER THAN Paq would Floyd after SSM.
LOLLLLL
If Mayweather ever called out QUINTANA i'd lose all respect I ever had for him as a fighter.
I would have no respect for him either if he called out Quintana, but I dont think he would do that. At least Berto is known as a rising star with good potential. Aside from Paq, I think Berto is one of Floyds best options.
Does that mean you are picking Mosley to win, or does the rematch clause apply to both of them?
No, Mayweather is winning and he's giving Mosley a rematch if he wants.
He might just retire. I mean the only fight that is a big money fight for him is Ahmir Khan but that fight is at least 1 maybe 2 years away. Also I don't see him facing Martinez and Williams because they are too dangerous and not enough money involved.
BTW Quintana is gonna UD Berto
If Mayweather faught and beat Mosley and Pac, Mayweather vs Williams does 1.5-2 million based solely on advertising the size difference. GBP may want to throw Khan in there with Mayweather, but he's gotta earn that by beating some tough 140-147 pounders. And Berto's stopping Quintana.
Undefeated sells, Mayweather vs. Berto can happen but there is very little demand for that right now.
Yeah. If Berto beats the likes of Quintana, the Adyin-Collazo winner, Cotto or Mosley, and/or unifies with the IBF champ in front of a large scale HBO audience, I think that fight could happen and put up pretty good numbers roughly a little more than a year from now.
Floyd against TR fighters have no chance of happening. So there's that. They would be no one else for Floyd to fight at 154, besides Williams, who's beating Cintron, and Martinez, who'll either had just won a middleweight belt (Though he certainly would come down for a Floyd paycheck), or coming off a loss . And most likely Floyd wouldn't fight those guys anyway. Which leaves a fight with most likely Berto, which I would hate to see. I think Berto needs 2 or 3 more fights with top quality welterweights after Quintana before fighting Floyd. So if Mayweather dominates Mosley to the point where a rematch is pointless, and a Pac fight doesn't work out, he doesn't have too many attractive options.

I hate it, but I have to agree. If he doesn't fight Pac, he would have to go into semi-retirement until Berto's ready for a fight. And I'm sure 2/3 years down the line he'll fight whoever comes out the best at 140, but that would still require semi-retirement.

Outside of a looking for a big payday.....there really isn't nothing out there for Floyd and I wouldn't be shocked if he retired. The thing about Floyd is that he needs a career defining win to place himself amongst the greats. Corrales, DLH, Hatton are good fighters but not ATG's. Pac was his one shot at that type of fight, and the sole reason for him coming out of retirement.

I would pick floyd over pac, berto, quintana, p-will, margarito etc. I think shane mosley will pose the biggest problems for mayweather out of everyone in or around 147
