Any world class fighter who is any good and has at least a 45% ko rate has power. If they were as featherfisted as some posters on here make them seem to be they would have plenty of losses because opponents would just walk right through their punches and walk them down for the ko or outwork them to a UD. As for Dirrell, when I saw the fight last week all I could think of was who I didn't want to be at the moment and AA came to mind. I just kept thinking how much Kessler,Froch and Abraham were over-hyped based on their power and "what they COULD" do....Ward showed that he clearly belongs in the top of the SMW division.I believe Dirrell would be much improved with one more year under his belt before the tournament,but saying this-he has shown he can hang with anyone.I think just one more year would make him that much better.He won't win this tournament,but I think he is the second best,despite his rank of this tourney...he would have had 4 points total if he didn't get robbed. I wanna see him rematch Froch-I believe he has the confidence to look more impressive in a second match.

no power? dirrell was splitting AA's guard and dirrell knocked down AA. Dirrell definitely has decent power. Not great but it is ok. Much of the bruising around Abraham's eyes came from Dirrell's punches hitting Arthur's gloves (Arthur has a high guard with both hands up near his eyes) and the gloves were then pushed into his eye area. One of the commentators noted this during the fight. Dirrell split Abraham's guard on a few occasions but the bulk of that eye area bruising occurs after every Abraham fight because he doesn't slip punches, he catches them with his guard at eye-level.

But AA did want Dirrell to get tested for steroids after the fight, and Dirrell did drop AA twice in the fight (only counted one), and staggered AA a couple more times. Now that constitutes power.

I don't care how you did it. If you put a guy down that's never been down in 30+ fights. You have power, and your doing something right. Another punch clearly staggered AA also.
