Chad has said recently he would like to one day go to HW.
Lets say if he were to put the right amount of muscle mass on and jump to HW. How does he fair at the weight? He has already beat a top HW Contender in Adamek.
How does he do with the likes of Povetkin, Arreola, Samuel Peter and Ruiz?
Could he become a threat at the weight. If he were to add the right muscle and keep his speed?
Not now. But, in a few years when he starts outgrowing the LHW division he could move up to CW/HW. Plus by the time the Klitschko might be retired so you would have the smaller HW dominate more.
Jesus Christ. Talk about overrating a guy. Sure he beat Adamek. But Adamek would win a rematch at Heavyweight I think like a lot of people do. Dawson needs to stay at 175 and he'll eventually get some notable fights.
Dawson's career has only really started to take off. He's way off from being a Heavyweight going by what you see now. There's a lot of good fights for him when you look what's at 175 and 168.
HW would most likely be pointless. He should try CW for a couple of fights at least if he is serious. He should see how Adamek fares first also.
If he waits for the Super 6 guys he could have some tasty fights lined up, but who will he fight until then?
LOL,I think Chad would beat most fighters at Heavyweight,But he would lose to all the title holders their.
He would not. His speed in all areas would be slow. He doesn't have a great chin either
Adamek at HW would beat him

So did Pavlik until he got beat by Hopkins
Chris byrd has phenomenal defense and speed, that's what allowed him to be successful at HW. While Chad is fast, his defense isn't nearly as good as Byrd's was.
Byrd fought as a light - middleweight before moving up to HW in that time he was hit with more shots because he was fighting guy is own size, When he moved up he was a small HW so he use his speed to get away from all this big and fat HW, I think Dawson can do the exact same if not even better especially with the fact that he wouldnt have to kill himself at any scales.
He doesn't have enough power, unless he suddenly found some from the extra weight. Also his chin is a bit shaky at Light Heavyweight and obviously he wouldn't be as fast. I say let's wait til he makes a move to Cruiserweight in the future before we start describing his Heavyweight credentials.

This chinny fool will get ktfo!!!! He doesnt have the power to make a real HW respect him
Physically I think he could do it, but he doesn't fight like a heavyweight. He would need to learn to really load up on his shots and have better finishing skills/killer instinct.
I mean he could fight like he does now, but eventually he'd got KO'd by a puncher.
Honestly he should stay at 175. If he's patient the big fights will come. A lot of the super 6 guys will go to LW, Carl Froch already said he's moving up after the tournament, I can see Ward & Dirrell doing the same.
Very true most of the Super 6 will move up, especially Dirrell.
Lets be honest here. Only way to be relevant in the HWD is to be a challenger to the K Bros. Even though Dawson is 6'1-6'2, he would be too small for them. I don't really see him being all that effective with that much extra weight on him diminishing his speed and reflexes. Maybe for CW, but not HW
