I really think a return to the ring would ultimately benefit his legacy beyond all doubt, if for just two more fights. I really rate Joe, but his resume just doesn't match his ability. I look at Froch who is no where near as good as Calzaghe and he's got Jermaine Taylor (despite Taylor completely outboxing him and being shot) and a young Andre Dirrell (who will go on to bigger and better things). And whilst Joe has an undefeated Kessler and highly rated Lacy on his record both of those wins have come under heavy criticism due to what those fighters have gone on to become.
I guess the only fights on for him now is the IBF Champion, Bute or Chad Dawson at LHW, and then depending on the Super Six winner that would also be a legacy sealing victory.
I know Joe thinks of himself "bigger" than the likes of Bute and Dawson, but he forgets that his career only really made it to the big stage two years before he retired and the choices he made (with regards to fighting Roy over Pavlik and Manfredo Jr over.....well anybody other than Manfredo Jr) really leave a negative smudge on his record. It would do Joe no harm to maybe get to 48-0 with two more career defining wins. Ideally it'd be Bute and Ward.
Its hard to tell. I think fighters like Ward and Direll win or lose, would cause him serious trouble.
I don't think Dirrell would be able to adjust if Joe starting frustrating him, but I think Joe would adjust to Dirrell pretty well because he has good speed and movement. Ward i agree could give him problems and would be a closer fight. I'd still pick Joe to pull out a close UD.
That's a funny thought, and it's actually true. Worst part about it is Joe would probably beat everyone in the super-six.

Joe's legacy consists of a zero and a lot of victorys over has beens and never beens. He won't come back he is into incest and cocaine now. No disrespect.
tbh after the super 6 most of them will have a better resume....sad but true

Joe C's resume is questionable. Ward beat Kessler easier than Calzaghe did. Lacy was very limited. Jones was old and faded. The Hopkins win is the only truly legitimate, impressive Win, in the grand scheme of things. He should thank Hop that 'Nard went on to whup Pavlik
