I know what you were saying and why you said it...
It was just a bad example. Oscar has been a partime boxer for a while now. That wasn't a bad example.
he's not boxing anymore. fyi:)
since he brought up oscar as a part-time boxer. i brought that up.
c'mon. im talking about a fulltime job just like that MMA guy that beat mir. he was a fulltime engineer.

Carwin is a beast dude. He's 6'5 and he's got vicious striking, and he's also a good wrestler man.. Carwin is a bad dude. Can't wait to see him fight my boy Brock!
Dont know if this guy is an example, but again it shows how people from other fields easily adapt to MMA, from wrestlers, Fake wrestlers, kick boxers, Ex/failed/retried Boxers, Long time street fighters, all find of martial artist, NFL players, baseball players, etc... And when I say adapt I mean They get put into the spot light and promoted and put on PPV's by MMA so fast. Its like if your athletic or strong and put in a strong 2 years of training you can have some kind success in MMA. Be in your Mid to late 20's and try that shit in any other sport (Baseball, Football (both), Boxing, swimming, tennis, etc...) you're going to fail bad. Its very very hard to adapt and transition to other sports unless you are a super gifted athlete already off top. Its like Lesner trying to get in the NFL he failed, tried MMA... Instant contender and superstar, what other sport could he have pulled some shit like that off? You have so many Athletes in MMA that failed in the original sport of their choice. And saw MMA as the next/last option.
herschel walker also tried MMa. and he won too.
granted it maybe against a scrub. but walker is like 50 yrs old. lol

This is exactly what I was getting at.
Those things were never serious. Oscar was notorius for fighting only once a year. Sometimes once every 2. That is a part time boxer.
Cause Pac is interested in politics doesn't mean he is part time. That is my point. He still fight 2 to 3 times a year. That may change now, but till then, he is not partime...Bad example.

do i really have to? puhlleeasse
i just used pacquiao as an example. i could have said RJJ when he was rapping, or mayweather.

The entertainment value of MMA over boxing is very overrated. Most of the time these guys are wrestling on the ground. To me it is obviously a race thing in the US and I understand it. There are few to no major "white americans" at the top of the sport of boxing right now and a lot of these fans watch it to replace that void. It's a similar story of what happened to the NBA in the 70's. Don't get me wrong i'm not saying only white people watch MMA i'm just saying that most of the momentum of MMA comes from that dynamic. There is a lot of skill in MMA but most of the time you put a great athlete in there despite the advantages in training he'll just blow through the comp and I don't see that at the apex of the sport of boxing.
Oh lord!....
How exactly?
Pac does not fight once a year...Sometimes once every two...That was the type of stuff Oscar would pull..
Now explain your Pac logic.
do i really have to? puhlleeasse

Yeah but in boxing just because you have a great physique doesn't mean you'll run all over guys. which just further proves the point.
Well in reality, there have been two examples in this topic that proved a part time fighter can win a title in boxing...
Staying at the top, is another story.
He puts Arreola & Chambers(America's Boxing Hope) to shame.

How so? He doesn't have a big promotional company to run. But if you want to put it that way then its even more funny that a part time boxer is beating all these top guys at Welter.
LOL exactly!!! I think he just had Pac on the brain..:thumbsdow
with that logic pacquiao is part-time boxer as well.

Doesn't it occur to you that he may be a special fighter? lol
Yeah he's obviously a special fighter just to be able to bounce those things but can you honestly provide an example of a guy who has become a world champion beating guys with the clout that Frank Mir has in MMA in boxing. It just doesn't happen. Its a huge deal when Juan Diaz is a student and boxer at the same time and this guy has a 9-5. This looks bad lol and if he beats lesnar than that'll just be over the top because Lesnar has the rep of being like unstoppable in MMA.
not exactly sure just read this on yahoo.

imagine if a part-time boxer beats klitchko bros. lol
not going to happen in boxing.
Corrie Sanders did.
i mean, seriously? a part time ufc fighter. full time engineer. lol

Even though I don't like MMA, this doesn't really prove anything. If anything this its considered as a good thing, people love to hear these kind of stories all of the time, one of the ordinary unknown guys making a name for themselves.
I still think Boxing beats the shit out of MMA regardless though, but thats just my opinion cause I prefer it... others may feel differently but at the end of the day it doesn't matter because there is plenty of room for both sports to do there own thing.
