Just makes me think about all the talk of boxing "apart from the couple of big stars boxing has at any given time....there's not really much for boxing to fall back on." Tonight was a really bad night for boxing.
Whatever credibility the super 6 had left was completely dismantled tonight and is now a sham.
Guzman vs Funeka was a sham.
Pacquiao vs Clottey undercard was very good on paper but ended up being a sham.
Floyd vs Mosley will be a sham.
Why cant boxing get it's shit together and actually give back to the fans who are lining their pockets with millions???
At least in asia they're giving the fans the highly awaited kameda-wonjongkam fight.
Boxing is dying?
Shit, just when I thought boxing was starting to grow again.
Sure, when UFC started to truly grow as a sport, it hurt boxing. But the UFC hype is over.
exactly, it has leveled off now. i dont here people taking about it like i used to

Pacquiao-Clottey undercard was good on paper?
Duddy = Bum
JLC = Shot
The one fight everyone thoughy would be okay was Diaz-Soto.
I don't know one person who didn't expect that undercard to be shit.
If anything I think this stretch is a pretty good time for boxing.
We just had Pacquiao fight, than Maidana, Super 6, now Roy Jones vs Hopkins. That's not bad at all.
LOL at this thread. boxing is doing pretty good right now. there's lots of room for improvement but its still doing pretty good. u must be an MMgay fanboy
Margarito being suspended for plater-like substance in handwraps.
pac-mayweather not happening. being replaced by 2 sham fights(both completely legitimate fights but a complete sham in contrast of what should have been)
loopholes in andre ward's scheduling not having him travel at all.
jermain taylor pulling out of the super 6.
fiasco with judges in froch-dirrell
joan guzman overweight by 9lbs.
arthur abraham intentional foul ending ko
Well I'm sure boxing is not gonna die and I doubt people will turn their backs on boxing just because of this crap you are blabbin about.
Boxing is dying? Groundless delusion. In Europe boxing is flourishing like it was maybe only in early 20-th century.
In USA people are just disillusioned by Klitschkos' dominance in heavyweight, but this doesn't mean "boxing is dying" there, it's just disappointment in own supremacy. And it's just temporal, USA should accustom to this.

Well who cares? that all adds to the drama and excitement and gives us something to talk about.
And what is this blow after blow news that you are talking about?

boxing as a sport would never ever die. It's the 2nd oldest sport in the world for a reason.
But recent events seem to deal 1 devastating blow after another to boxing politics.
Sometimes I kind of wish boxing as a business industry would hurry up and die already so it can be rebuilt from the ground up with special attention to fan service.

i was entertained by dirrell-abraham. both guys came looking to inflict pain. neither guy ran, neither guy was looking just to score points. multiple knock downs. high intensity. ending was unfortunate, but i was still very entertained. big ups to both fighters.
i thought it was a good night for boxing. bottom line, boxing is entertainment, and i was entertained. the controversy will just help to keep people talking about the fight and maybe even help drive up interest in a rematch later on.
no my point is that pacquaio could draw 50.000 fans to one fight no one could have done that in 2005. and the may mosley fight is good because that anticipation builds up and gathers more fans, which is only good for the sport. i honestly cant see why anyone can say 'boxing is dead' after the last couple of months even years.

omg how do you know the mosley vs mayweather fight will be a sham? it is one of the most anticipated fights ever lol that alone proves boxing isnt dead aswell as the pacquaio fight with 50,000 ticket sales to the fight alone, wow end of thread/
anticipated doesnt = delivery.
mayweather-delahoya was highly anticipated and was the best selling ppv in history. but you'd be hard pressed to find a hardcore boxing fan who can call it memorable, let alone a casual fan.
50,000 tickets with pacquiao-clottey is a testament to pacquiao's starpower. it's undercard while very good on paper was a complete waste of time and money. I much rather enjoyed the non-televised portion of the undercard than the featured.
And no matter how you look at it may-mosley and pac-clottey is not may-pac.
