A 154lb, 34 year old Oscar De La Hoya with Reyes gloves (gloves with less padding) or a 147, 38 year old Sugar Shane Mosley? And how much harder (like on a scale of 1 to 10, where would you rate each?). I'm not trying to prove a point or anything. I just want to know everyone's opinions because it'll help me make my final prediction of the Mayweather-Mosley fight.
I doubt if punch of Mosley cant land...
If Zab can land a clean shot at KFC probably SSM will pulvorized KFC just like what he did with Margarito.
Zab Judah is faster than Mosley and Pacquiao, and he was able to land by beating Floyd to the punch. Mosley cannot do that.
It's not power that will beat Floyd, so what is the point in asking who hits harder? ODLH EASILY handled Floyd for at least six rounds with a good, consistent jab. I see many people on these boards who act as though Floyd embarrassed Oscar, but that is complete B.S. Shane, I hope, has studied the ODLH-Mayweather fight over and over. He won't suddenly become a great jabber over night, but Shane is not going to beat Floyd without fighting behind the jab.
De La Hoya is just the left hook, Mosley has more versatile power punching. De La Hoya boxed Floyd, Mosley will fight Floyd.
all of this^^^^^^^^ good post and assesment.
dlh had one punch ko power, mosley doesnt.

Tell that to Ricardo Mayorga. Mosley's power alone won the fight for him, because his reflexes, speed and footspeed were gone. Although you could make the argument that Mosley didn't go to the neutral corner after the knockdown so he did kinda catch Mayorga off guard. I still think he's very powerful though.
Actually Mosley has been saying in many interviews that he plans to outbox Floyd, and if he wobbles him then a KO will come.
I have missed that. No disrespect to Mosley but it dosen't sound like a good plan.

Mosley for sure. Nobody in their right mind thought Oscar would KO PBF. It isn't out of the question for Mosley. Be it by decision or KO, his power will win it for him if he does win. He's outmatched in handspeed closely, and outclassed thoroughly in footwork.

Who is more likely to land more significantly with their power should also be taken into account, also, ODLH was a one handed fighter.
It's pretty much impossible to answer, we can just speculate. I'll say DLH because less than an year before the Mayweather fight he destroyed Mayorga in 6 at 154, Mosley took out Mayorga at 154 last second, literally.
Yeah it is pretty hard. And the Mayorga fight is hard to base your choice on because Mosley looked ridiculous for more than half of the fight. His reflexes and speed were a thing in the past in that fight. I can't believe that two of the judges had Mosley ahead before the KO. De La Hoya on the other hand looked like he was in his prime when he dismantled Mayorga.
Good question, but because we didn't get to see Mosley vs Berto, it's a question that may only be answered fight night. Not sure who's stronger, but I would guess at some point Shane will land a better shot than Oscar did.
