I am predicting May - Mosley to do from 1.3 to 1.5 million, and Pac is going to bring in from 700-750k...
How much negotiating power can Pac come back with, with bringing in a live gate of 51k people.. versus say 15k for Floyd-May in vegas?
How much does the live gate make up for the 750k less PPV's?
it's 50-50 period...if someone asks for more it's just his way of pussying out of the fight. besides they already agreed to that kind of sharing before the negotiations failed. they already hurt boxing with their big egos it's about time they come to terms without much bullshits.
This is no jab at Floyd at all, but I don't think 50k people would go to see Floyd fight Clottey. Pacquiao is an action fighter that people who aren't focused solely on the scientific aspect of Boxing can gravitate to. The fight wasn't very exciting, but I think people more than likely would've been leaving by the 7th-8th round if it were Floyd instead of Clottey. Again, it's no diss to Floyd, but that's just the way he fights and how he'd fight Clottey...being safe and just Boxing to a UD. Many expected Pacquiao to give Clottey a beating, but it was more Pacquiao just being aggressive and at least trying to make a fight out of it.
People pay the see Floyd because of the aura he portrays in the media, as well as people wanting to see someone beat him, along with people who genuinely love watching Floyd fight. But without a big dance partner, people aren't jumping through hoops to pay to see him as proven in his last PPV before his big fight with Oscar (which since then have all been promoted by GBP ironically).
No one told Pac to fight Clottey. He couldve fought Shane or Floyd he chose Clottey. Thats his fault.
What do you mean his last PPV before Oscar?
Baldomir was an unknown and it did 350k. Thats 75k less then Pac-Marquez 2.
Its not ironic, hes a partner with GBP Floyd has made that clear.
The more PPV May generates, the more negotiating power May gets....the less the fight will likely happen. Pac will never back down from 50/50.
True story.
as he shouldn't
I think when you get to this level of fight unless you are an absolute zero in drawing power then there should be no reason not to do 50-50 other than principle
sadly it will come down to that as IMO both will try and dick measure the other into agreeing
Like Arum made any effort whatsoever to come to any terms other than "THE FIGHT IS OFF, FLOYD CAN GO TO HELL" etc
Not to mention he said that like 5 times. They didnt want this fight thats obvious.

:lol1: About 3 seperate occassions as well..
Not much really.
The Stadium itself was a huge draw.
The tickets weren't that expensive and people wanted to experience boxing in the new stadium people should've expected 45-50 k.
It wont mean anything in the long run.
You put Mosley-Floyd there theyd have to expand the stadium way past 50,000.
Mainly because he doesn't believe they can come to terms.

I really dont see Mayweather or Arum doing business together, I thought this would be the fight that would break the ice because of the magnitude of the fight but it seem nothing can.
anyone here seriously think pbf would have 700k ppv and 50k live gate with clottey?
pac vs clottey ppv is like apple to orange comparing mosley-pbf ppv
It's possible, but it would be hard to get those numbers.

The PPV numbers? Absolutely, maybe even moreso.
The live gate I am sure...
Do you realize 750k is a HUGE PPV success.
So Floyds fight doing 750K MORE than Pacs fight... is HUGE.
It doesnt have to be 1 million to be a big difference.
Average PPVs are around 300-400k BUYS.
We are talking a difference in 750k.
lol I know, but you know how people are today they have to shocked for it to make a difference.

It doesn't look like Arum is that interested in fighting Floyd. He has talked more about fighting Marg than fighting Floyd...
Mainly because he doesn't believe they can come to terms.
Why would Floyd fight him when he can fight other fighters and make more?
Floyd makes more in one minute of boxing than Clottey has in his bank account.
Like who?
If Mayweather vs Mosley can sell 1 Million more then Pac, then sales will play a part... other then that I dont see it coming into play.

No what I am getting at is.
Floyd will say: I doubled your PPVs... 60-40.
Pac can say, yeah but I brought in a live gate of 51k people.
So the question is... how much negotiating power does the live gate bring to make up for the difference in PPVs between the two fights..
Selling at least 500K more PPV buys is more money than the extra 30K from the Pac fight.
You can't prove all 30K would have bought the PPV.

Yeah... one of the reasons I wish Arum did more promoting for the Clottey fight at least thought about the fact that Pacs fight not doing as well as Floyds next fight is going to further crimp negotiations...
