n reading some of the comments made by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, it seems like it might be a better idea for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to look in another direction for a fight rather than pursuing a fight with Manny Pacquiao. At Yahoo Sports, Arum said when speaking about negotiating with Mayweather, “You don’t negotiate. Neville Chamberlain negotiated with Hitler in Munich, and look what happened. Let the commission set whatever kind of drug testing. It has to be amplified, then that’s up to them. The only way a fight can be is if Mayweather want to fight and signs a contract like else signs a contract.”
The commission won’t require that blood testing be done for this fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao, and without them directing that the testing be done, it will require for Mayweather to given into his requests for random blood testing. Will that happen? Who knows? It would be one of the few times that Mayweather has given in for anything. It would be then interesting to see if the $10 million dollar per pound weight clause, which was asked for by Pacquiao’s side during the last negotiations with Mayweather, would be put in the contract with him this time.
That might leave Mayweather feeling less than pleased, especially if he had given in about the blood testing that he wanted. Mayweather might want to forget about the whole thing and look in another direction. If he’s able to make $10 million per fight against good fighters, he doesn’t need to have to cave in and not accept what he wants in a deal with Pacquiao.
It would, of course, take longer for Mayweather to make the back the kind of money that he would make in a fight with Pacquiao, but he has time on his side. Mayweather isn’t planning on retiring and going into politics like Pacquiao at some point in the near future. Mayweather can make big money fighting guys like Edwin Valero, Andre Berto, Saul Alvarez and Paul Williams. He doesn’t have to give in if he doesn’t want to and take less than he wants in a fight with Pacquiao.

All that bullshit is banter. Remember when neither of them said they would accept 50-50? We will see when the fight is made.
true...... if this fights made. finger cross!
Fair enough points i suppose. But i think even the most devoted of his stans would revolt if he fought anyone else but Pacquiao after Mosley.
NOT!!!!!!!!!!! If Floyd holds on to his principles then I can care less if he fights Pacquiao next especially if Pacquiao is not willing to take the test. There will be no revolt because I know Floyd would outbox Manny and show him why the sport is called boxing not brawling
He just fought Marquez the LIGHTWEIGHT champion.. and already fought Hatton at 147, the LIGHT WELTERWEIGHT Champ... I doubt he cares about criticism.
And not necessarily... Mayweather brings his own numbers now, he will do 800k - 1 million on his own... and against lesser known fighters he can demand 85% of the purse.
He will make his money regardless.

Pacquiao being the 140lb champion still would fight bradley or alexander in the proper weightclass. Mayweather would not be able to fight either at 147 without taking an extreme amount of criticism.
And it's not that floyd "cant" go to 154. It's that there is no "money" fight for him anywhere. Not at 140, not at 147, not at 154. After Mosley if he fights anyone else but Pacquiao it would be the abandoment of his "money" image and a complete contradiction to his "pacquiao dont wanna take a 40million dollar drug test" statements.

How does Floyd not have the same options Manny has?
Floyd can't fight the Bradley Devon winner?
Floyd can't goto 154?
Actually if Floyd - Mosley does 1.5.. and the fight is competitive at all, they might do a rematch even IF Floyd wins, just for the money.
I know Mosley would.

thats very true
for what Pacquiao just did 550 ppv buys with clottey..:?!:
Are the PPV numbers out yet or is this a guesstimate?
I'd think he'd do a little better than that, but then again the fight wasn't promoted well at all.
May-Mosley could break every ppv record in existence and would still have no choice but to give into anything pacquiao demands.
After Mosley who else is out there for floyd to fight besides pacquiao??? He wont be able to fight anyone else after mosley without both alienating his "money" image entirely and looking like he's ducking pacquiao.
Pacquiao meanwhile being the 140lb champion still has bradley/alexander or the option of moving up to 154 for an 8th divisional world title. might not be the fight pacquiao fans wanted...but still very credible options that cant be knocked.
Mayweather meanwhile has absolutely no options after Mosley but Pacquiao and retirement.

I really can't see it happening... Mosley has a very realistic chance of beating Floyd anyway. And if he does; bye Floyd. Mosley and Pacquiao can fight to determine the best in the world. Floyd can take a walk. Dammit I hope that happens, I do think Floyd is a marvelous fighter but he just pisses me off. I find it ironic how he was on 24/7 counting out a million dollars in cash and later had to borrow money from Golden Boy. Silly cu nt
i think floyd wants this fight, but could care less for giving in, he has made a stand and i believe he will stick by it, i think he will be more flexable this time, but i dont think he will back off the random drug tests
My biggest thing is... don't wait until your 35 or 36 to fight Pac, Floyd.
Not a good idea.
Seriously, because Pac will still be throwing 1300 punches a fight thanks to the chicken he grew up on.
