Maybe there should be a 3rd option, the fight was rigged Clottey was paid off, he could land at will and neveer threw, unbelievable!
Where you even watching the fight man?!! Manny deliverately stop throwing to lure clottey in and make clottey open up some more. Manny did the same thing with cotto, when cotto was circling his way out of a fight.
I thought after the 4th round that Clottey's gameplan was to continue his career as a fighter who's never been KO'ed.
I thought correctly. He loves that reputation.
He just should of opened up more and threw more shots, because when he did, they had some effect. He should of took more risks, those who DARE to be great.
Well??????????????????
He came to win, he planned to win, he just isnt the fighter to take Paq down. Paq is doing the same thing that Floyd used to do, that is make good fighters look average. Clottey definitely should have let his hands go, but then Paq would have landed twice as much as he did and maybe gotten a late stoppage. I am disapointed that Clottey didnt throw caution to the wind late in the fight when it became obvious that he needed a knockout to win. But having said that, Clottey has a history of letting off the gas late in a fight even when he is ahead.
What would you say?
I think he came to win but after a few rounds realized that wasn't gonna happen...and decided to check it in...more effort wudda been nice...
Clottey to me is a guy that had his manhood taken away by Pac and Arum. He collected his check in a cowardly fashion to ensure that Pac vs May/Mosely pops off w/o a hitch.
I hate Clottey with a passion for pimping himself out like that
I say he came to win, but could not deal with Pac's speed and workrate. It seemed like he was waiting for Pacquiao, then never stopped waiting.
Clottey has always been defense first and then opens up when his opponent wants to take a breather. Manny does not take many breathers if at all.
He always fights like that. Volume punchers are his problem. He punches when you stop, but Pacquiao would barley stop. However, when he did throw he landed a lot, look at Pacquiaos face for evidence. It wa sbasically what I expected.
I really felt Clottey let the fans down. I paid $54.00 for that. And for most of the fight, it just looked like he wasn't going all out and wasn't trying to win the actual fight.
He was more content on lasting the distance, and taking no risks and no damage. And was happy to hear the bell and collect his money!
:nonono:
At first I thought it was great how Clottey was pretty much blocking all of pac's punches and thought he had a strategy..Then after a while I was like wtf, he's not ever punching...Pac just picked him apart the whole fight..
