Just wondering?
As a Floyd fan I do think Paul Williams is the toughest fight for Floyd due to his Incredible work rate.....
I think Floyd wins by a close UD or SD,
What do you guys think?
Poll to follow
Paul Williams maybe 6'2" but he fights like he is 5'2". The man flat out just doesn't fight tall or even come close to using his height like he should. Williams of course has a long jab but its lazy so what good does that do him when it can easily be slipped and now the fighter has gotten inside that long reach of his. Paul Williams has great physical attributes but he does not use them to his advantage. I feel PBF can beat Paul Williams and IMO it wouldn't be that hard.
Matinez gave him a lot of trouble counter punching,
I understand Martinez is stronger then Floyd BUT Floyd is a better counter puncher
Agree, although martinez was willing to take some good punches and go to a bit of a war which i think benefited him in the fight. i would think floyd would try to be defensive as usually and i think that is the worst style for beating a guy like williams, cause he would no doubt outwork floyd and his reach is long enough where i don't know how many good counter punches floyd will land while keeping himself protected. if floyd was willing to be more offensive and not just counter like he usually does, than i think he would probably win, though i have never seen floyd use that style so who knows. i think paul would win if floyd fought the way he has since being a WW.
You forgot his mental attitude, even when he gets knocked down he shows no quit and the same determanation. Getting busted by Quintana he kept comming. These are things we can't measure and can affect the outcome of a fight
I don't know any welter I'd pick over Williams right now.
6 foot 4.
Southpaw.
82 inch reach.
Will weigh over 160 Pounds
Fast hands for his size
Relentless Pressure
Granite Chin
Extremely long jab
Doubles and Triples the jab.
Never gets tired.
Has good power when he sits on punches.
Hes a matchup nightmare for Floyd.

Pacquiao doesn't have a title at 154. Hell he hasn't even fought a real contender at the 147 lb limit yet.
What's your point again?
That he wouldn't fight PW...and had no interest in fighting Mosley when Shane was begging for a fight.
Exactly. Floyd wanted no part of Mosley before.
Extreme circumstances happened and Floyd saw an opportunity to fight Shane almost a year and a half without a fight, he pounced.
Floyd would NEVER fight Williams.
Well, he was trying to negotiate a fight with Manny, you can't knock that can you? Given the choice between the two, I would have picked Manny FIRST as well. Add on to the fact that Shane was set to fight Berto and Team Mayweather stated that if the Manny fight falls through, they would fight the winner of Shane-Berto. The Manny fight fell through, the Berto fight fell through, so now Floyd and Shane are fighting.
What's the fuss?
Neither would Pacquiao. Hell, a lot of guys wouldn't.

Mosley is that though, thats why Floyd will fight him now, like all his fights they have to have an angle, either they are old, smaller, just lost, or not that good to begin with. Check my posts and ive said time again that Mosley is done, too old.
He would never fight someone like Williams and you know it, why? because Williams does not fall into one of those categories.
Oh please. You can say the same thing about Pacquiao. He's "smaller". Mosley is arguably the biggest threat in the division, Pac being the only exception.

Didn't you credit him for fighting JMM though?
:theyareon
To the bold and red, you can say that about just about EVERY fighter that ever laced em up...no?
Williams lost to Quintana and I had Martinez edging out Williams. Floyd is a bit smaller yet, but he is a lot harder to hit. Never seen Floyd hit like Martinez has been his last two fights. I think Floyd would win.

Does it matter, Floyd Mayweather would never in a million years take someone like Williams on, too risky for him, your assuming the guy has a set a balls.
