I REALLY doubt it will happen, but let's say Clottey connect flush and knocks Pacquiao out, would it be the biggest (NON-HEAVYWEIGHT) boxing upset ever??
What do you think?
It would be a big upset if Pac loses. But is Clottey a more worthy opponent than Douglas was supposed to be? I would have to say yes.
So it wouldnt be as big an upset as the Tyson and Buster one, only because CLottey is more regarded i would say.
He did beat Cotto some people say in his last fight and you are as good as your last fight they say
i dont think it'd quite be in Buster Douglas territory, but I'd still be shocked if Clottey managed an upset. I just don't see it happening, unless Pacquiao does something to defeat himself...
The thread says Clottey KNOCKING OUT Manny.Thread I saw said "If Clottey beat Pacquiao, would it be the biggest upset in boxing history??" Doesn't mention "knocking out".
Bigger than Turpin beating Robinson? Robinson was 20-1 favourite and had only lost once in 133 fights! He is the man that they made the phrase "Pound for Pound" for. Seriously?

as far as a superfight goes, it would be up there. but Clottey is a legit WW, and Pac is fighting here for only the second time. The first was against a shriveled De la Hoya. There HAS to be bigger upsets than this one, assuming it happens. And to leave out the Heavyweights is a little pointless. You're leaving out the most popular division in the history of the sport. Douglas-Tyson beats this one by a mile.
biggest non-heavyweight upset in history... yes without a doubt

You do know that Clottey, a man who struggles to make the 147lb limit, will be forced to make weight a second time at the fight night. Right?
How much does he have to weigh on fight night and what are his average fight night weights?
I was shocked by Hopkins / Tito. That one springs immediately to mind. Tito was heavily favoured that night if I remember correctly
4-1 for Tito-Hopkins
8-1 Pac-Clottey
do some math pussy
Of the top of my head I can think of the following bigger upsets:
Turpin W15 Robinson
Honeygan KO 6 Curry
Laing W10 Duran
Barkley KO 3 Hearns
Phillips KO10 Tszyu
Baldomir W12 Judah
Pacquiao losing to Clottey would be surprising, but hardly the biggest upset in history. Clottey is no worse than sixth or seventh in the division.
Interestingly, most of the biggest upsets are heavyweights.
as far as odds goes, no this wouldn't even come close to the biggest upset in boxing history.
shiyat, man holt was -1400 over mabuza last week and he lost.
I don't remember Tito being heavily favoured.
I guess maybe to my he was. I remember thinking the Tito victory was all but signed and sealed. He was on the top or close to being top of the world at the time. A lot of people thought Hopkins was over the hill and ready to be fed to the lions, I guess people have been thinking that for a while about him.
