I read today on a Puerto rican news paper that Cotto is already on the look for a new trainer. One of the ones he already called is Orlando Cuéllar, Yuriorkis Gamboa trainer.
you say mexican fighters this and that umm oscar quit victor ortiz quit the dude that flero quit i mean theres a difference quietting when u have more left in you than just being smart when your getting beat to a pulp
Dude I was gonna go there but I didn't because some of the fighter that "quit" I actually really like.
its good he is looking for a new trainer i would like him to get with nazim, nacho, steward or just get back with evangelista but whoever he chooses
will be alot better tahn joe...does anyone have an actual link to the article? i would like to read it just because why would he look for a new trainer for just one last fight i think he might take a long layoff but if him and his new trainer have a great camp and fight i don't think he will retire....how many fighters retire and stay retired ? not many.
Boxing needs fighters like cotto that are willing to fight anyone and not worry about their record or how much they're getting paid. The best fights these days are not fought bcus of dumb ass promoters and fighters that are too afraid to lose......
You would take knees too if u were being hit with bricks
Hey bro I'm no fanatic I k ow he's not what he used to be but a different trainer might be really good for him if all he has is a couple of fights left
dude be taking knees. Thats pretty much quitting. Mexicna fighter would throw bombs till u lay him down. Cottos a doormat status, he';s doing half the work for you.

If he has no heart why did he queep going against pacquiao when his corner wanted to stop the fight? Why did he keep going with clottey whith that gash in his eye?
Sorry I meant to quote mookiep lol

i was really happy when i read this today, brings a breath of fresh air to us fans and to cottos career (even though cotto has already said this will be his last fight.. but you never know). hopefully, this is just what cotto needed and he picks the right one. i love cotto, he's given a lot to the sport and made his followers proud by being a warrior. never ducked anyone, took on the best even with an undefeated record and gave it all he had in the ring. how can you not respect and like cotto?
i'd love for him to close his career out in great fashion by fighting at yankee stadium with the great support he's going to get that night and becoming champion once again by beating foreman. it'll be kind of like a tribute, he deserves it. definitely flying out to see cotto because it could indeed be his last fight.. plus i haven't been to new york in a long time and i'd make for a nice summer vacation. :D
+1 :boxing:
Steward has been wanting to train cotto.....

cotto needs someone who can teach him defense and strategy. I say he should call up mcgirt or jeff mayweather. both work out of florida I think
why cant he just get evangelista back.but gamboa's trainer seems very good.some one that puts up great gameplans and get cotto to pound oponents to the body and fight smart again as he did with evangelista.santiago is the worst trainer i've seen man that guy was just a water boy on the corner.
