but he wasn't really setting on his #1 he tried to fight the best WW's But, he didn't get them and he sat on his #1 rankings... Quintana was out there, he could of unified against the IBF champ, P-Will was calling him out... I mean he had options and he didn't take them...

At the time I didn't agree with the ratings. But, now I do. Shane incactivity hurts him. Pac has a case I don't see how that does not add up to you. And, not Shane fault got canceleed. But, again is Shane fault that it came to that... He had 14 months to fight even a tune up... Fight a bum it don't matter and the inactivity loophole wouldn't of been an issue. like i said in my previous post, imo shane should be 1 & pacman 2, but the fact that cotto beat shane & pacman beat cotto you cant ignore manny's claim to the ring championship. his 2 fights at welter plus his status in the sport affords him that much recognition imo. no sense going in circles with this argument. the ring championship will be settled with pac clottey winner vs shane floyd winner. Agreed. That fight needs to happen.

well considering the fact that as recent as 2008 manny was fighting at 130 lbs & the bulk of his career fights taking place under 130 lbs, him totally dominating oscar & cotto at 147 & 145 no matter what circumstances were involved is highly impressive & cannot be ignored. i think shane is the 1# welterweight & pac should be 2# but cant be too bothered with the ring rankings. Its fairly accurate imo. pacman's rise in weight & his willingness to take on higher weight fighters & dominance in the weight class far outweighs the catchweight vs cotto & oscar's condition which manny had nothing to do with. Something I thought of any division with Clottey as a Top 5 WW is dry as hell.

great question. i would have to go with shane if both of them dominate due to the fact that shane has a deeper history at 147 than pacman. Plus the 145 catchweight cant be ignored when it comes to ranking & comparisons purposes. 145 or 147 i think manny dominates cotto, i dont know why they had to do it at a catchweight.
