Manny Pacquiao vs Felix Sturm for WBA MW title...How do you like Manny's chances?

Well Pacquiao rejected a Foreman fight at 154 sighting height concerns, Pacquiao wouldnt even like his chances against Sturm.

Felix would win. Manny would have to weigh in clothed and probably eat a big meal to weigh in as a MW, it would be ridiculous. actually he would only have to come in at 155. It was stated a few days ago, with manny's high carb diet, he is at 153 walk around weight. Not that this is important....just some FYI

Before I was a big Boxing fan, like today, where my hobby is too spend at least 2hours reading boxing news per day reading news, I saw everything of boxing in Germany and of Sturm. On those days I thought, Sturm was the winner of the Sturm Oscar Fight. But I also knew, with time of Sturm and the forthgoing, he had big weaknesses and certain problems. In the years 2008 and forthcoming, where many fans of boxing knew, that I always had great predictions, I knew tha Pacquiao is a Bomb. In the Diaz fight I was very impressed (I was a casual boxing fan befor; I knew in my younger years from De la Hoya in the Trinidad fight; I was one of the only persons who favered the PAcman in Germany). Pacquiao smashes bombs from very unorthodox angles, hurting shoots with KO Power. He is always busy, using angles, southpaw, very instinctiv. There is nobody in MW having such abilitiy. I am favoring agianst Sturm not just Pacquiao, but many more figthers. Sturm does't have the class, even he is talented. He could be a good boxer in the class of Cory Spinks, but not more. He can outbox most people, a nowadays elite boxer, but with the highquality of Welterweights nowadays, he has small chances to ne great. Sturm lacks instinkt boxing and fighting, experince on high level, power and toughness. He does't have the boxing ability, where he showed his superiorty, to be a winner of a good welter.

another thing you guys over looked was me saying "a year or so from now" Lets say Pac goes out a KO's a 5-8 165-170lb Clottey, then beats Mayweather and beats a 5-9 160 lb Mosley. I think If Manny pulls off that trifecta, I wouldn't put beating a 5-11 170lb Sturm outta the question. It's possible, but will be very difficult. Also Sturm isn't a huge puncher either, and on fight night, Manny will be a lot faster than him.

I edited my post to mention they both trained by Roach too. Sturm is not a world beater but he would be extremely dangerous for Manny at that weight. Height, Reach maybe even speed at that weight would go to Felix. His punk ass aint never leaving Germany anyway he just signed like some 10 year contract or something for an insane amount of cash. Pac could grab a belt at 154 vs. Bundrage if he beats Spink or Cotto if he beats Foreman but Martinez, Williams or Dzindiruk I dont see it. WW might be his limit. Hes yet to come to a WW fight weighing 147. I honestly think he will UD Foreman if they ever fought. I mean if you really think about it for a sec....Pac has sparred against Foreman before. Then for a while Roach, Arum and others are wanting a Foreman fight for Manny's 8th belt in as many classes. That alone tells me that Team Pac knows something we don't know.

Okay, hold up for a second here, on a serious note..... Pacquiao wont beat Strum but if I were to make a thread about Pacquiao-PWill right now. Pacquiao would beat him right? pac @ 160lbs? i just can't see it, sturm was just too much size advantage for pac to handle.

no way he goes up to mw, he'd take out cory spinks for the 154 ibf probably tho.

Pacquiao can be a 9 DIVISION CHAMPION if he beats Sturm. He would have to win a belt at 154 first.

yeah I might have to agree with this. I do think given the right opponent Manny could win a title at JMW but him being 5-6 really hurts him. Also by no means was I trying to imply a "cherry picked opponent" at MW, and only stated sturm because he is the consensus #2 ranked fighter at that division. I could have chosen a weaker champ like sylvester or say if mundine wins a title and Pac faces him but I knew a few posters would flame that to death. Big, quick, and good boxing skills. I think Manny would get UD'ed, but its no shame in losing like that to a bigger man

Lets say a year from now, if this fight were to get made, how do you like Manny's chances? Do you see him possible beating Sturm or do you think the jump would be too much for Pacquiao and he has capped out at WW? Just curious as to this because It would be insane for Manny to win a title at MW. Personally, I think it may be too much, but then again I have learned never to underestimate Manny. Sturm would jab him...take a step back and stand straight up because he's a good 5-6 inches taller...rinse and repeat. Don't think Sturm would stop him but he's too big and quick handed to lose either.
