CARL FROCH SLAMS SKY TV By Nick Parkinson CARL Froch has slammed Sky TV for not showing his next world title fight against Mikkel Kessler on April 24. Nottingham’s WBC super-*middleweight champion will instead be shown live on *Primetime TV – his third fight in-a-row not screened live by a terrestrial channel or Sky Sports. Froch's fight have not been shown on SKY TV and he feels this one should be the one that made it on SKY TV. Froch, 32, insists his clash with Dane Kessler is as big as the next fights of Amir Khan and David Haye.He said: “I am very disappointed about Sky not showing it. “I think Sky TV is the forefront of boxing and at the minute it is the best channel to be on in terms of getting across to your target market. I consider myself to be a Sky Box Office fighter. “They have had Khan-Salita and Haye-Valuev. I feel Froch-Kessler is up there with it and could justifiably be on Sky Box Office." “My promoter Mick Hennessy has spoken to all the networks, but budgeting, scheduling whatever the reason I don’t think they’re good enough reasons.When I became world champion it was a difficult time for TV." “Setanta collapsing didn’t help because it minimised the competition. If Kessler won his last fight this would be box office for Sky but him losing his world title took the edge off the fight. But I am not going to cry about it. Primetime is a building channel.”

The Froch Kessler fight SHOULD be on SKY and be given top priority IMO. Before the Super 6 tournament this fight was talked about as being THE SMM fight. The Froch Pascal fight was fight of the year, the Taylor fight was a great exciting fight those two World Title fights should have earned Froch huge recognition and TV deals. Kessler is well known in the UK for fighting the Welsh legend. It is a big fight that promises fireworks far more exciting than any fight Haye or Khan have been in. There is something wrong with the system when non events get more promotion and tv coverage than this much awaited big event. Froch is right at being pissed off with the situation.

Yeah? How many? I don't remember teh exact number but I think it was below 5000. It should be on T.V for free, ITV have been showing his fights for the past few years but suddenly they have now decided to stop showing them, well annoying. I reckon they would but I think he's demanding to money. He is a world champion but he comes across as a bit of a prick. He needs a different promoter. Someone like Warren maybe.

I can see why Sky wouldn't put the fight on SKy Box Office. I doubt it's going to make much money. Khan and Haye are big names and they been well promoted hence they are well known in England. Froch is not well known at all. He should change promoters. No one would buy Froch VS Kessler n Sky box office. Just look at how many people ordered Froch's last fight on Primetime. Shamir khan wont dare fight a puncher...as he will get knocked out again.. Carl froch has beaten 3 world class opponets in a row, plus ended robin reids career and beaten the current european champion... If he beats kessler he has surpassed calzaghes joke career... Yeah. This fight would of been so much bigger, if Kessler had beaten Ward. Froch will have his chance to a big TV stage when he faces Ward in the US with both tittles on the line, provided he gets through Kessler.

John Locke is wrong for suggesting that khan isn't english. He was born and raised in England,won an Olympic medal for Britain and repped Britain from day one in his boxing career. Just to clarify for you mate, i am English, scots are Scottish and Welsh are well cunts, lol just joking, British is a term that while we are it, we all preffered to be called out Countries nationality, i am English not Brtish. Like David Haye has the cross of St George on his shorts, top man, he is English. Jenson Button (in F1) asked to have the cross of st George on his helmet but was told no cos it was deemed a racist symbol!!! It's his flag!! But Scotsman David Coulthard has the Scottish flag on his helmet, and Button ended up having the british flag. Fair? No i don't think so. THAT is racist!!!
