Fighters who aren't afraid to go and fight in a fighters backyard in a foreign land and not just in casino's in a desert.
Glen Johnson is about the only one i can think of?
Puerto Rico is not a country. Puerto Rico is the USA's red headed step child.
Yes, I know what PR is. It is not part of the 50 states. They do not pay money to the IRS. They consider themselves different then the USA. For all intensive purposes they are their own country, just substidized by the US governemnt. Basically they have all the benefits they want (hold US passport, etc), but still can act on their own.
Puerto Rico is a territory appurtenant and belonging to the United States, but not a part of the United States.
Ask any fighter who has fought a Puerto Rican in Puerto Rico if they feel like it is a different country.
Anselmo Moreno.
On March 27th (which is a loaded day of boxing, BTW), he'll defend his belt for the fourth time on foreign soil.....
I believe over half of Tomoki's fights have been in Mexico.
might as well add linares then, most of his fights were in japan

Good names were mentioned... I will add 2 names that have not been mentioned in Roman Gonzalez and Anselmo Moreno... Also Koki and his younger brother Tomoki Kameda have been willing to fight outside of Japan...

There's a whole lot of fringe contenders that are willing to go anywhere to keep up that steady paycheck and feed their families.
See Glen Johnson's interview after Johnson-Dawson I.

Glen Johnson was the first to come to mind.
My boy Miranda will have fought in 7 different countries (if you call Puerto Rico it's own country) after April 17th. Pretty impressive.
true dat, no one can say he's scared to fight anyone

Steve Cunningham
In addition to fighting all over the eastern part of the US he defeated Rothmann in South Africa, Huck in Germany and Wlodarczyk (sp?) in Poland. He is NOT afraid to take you on in your home territory.
Historically, Mike McCallum was willing to fight anyone, anywhere. US, Jamaica, England, Italy, France, Germany....
historically, you can add Brian Mitchell to that list, good call with Cunningham
Carl Froch, he keeps going on about when he went to Jermain Taylors backyard (some bingo hall with about 50 seats)
andhe fought in canada if i'm not mistaken. you can add librado andrade, winky wright, marcos maidana, and tim bradley to that list
Is Augustus Still active? - Most fighters these days that travel alot either can't get fights without traveling, or are just journeymen/gatekeepers... I can't think of anyone traveling around the world just to beat everyone in their backyard

pretty much any world champ that fights away from home. no world champ has to fight away from home. they are the champs and they could just stay in their hometown and fight.
Na, there ain't that many globetrotting boxers out there.
No, there are plenty, they're usually journeymen though. There are always a few high level boxers that get left out though.
Like Anselmo Moreno.
