His claim to fame is beating Valuev in a close fight. If you people do not remember Holyfield beat Valuev a lot more convincingly than Haye did. Valuev just sucked, and Hayes fight with him was a lot closer than Holyfields fight.
Barrett was getting beat up and Haye got careless. Haye slipped into that punch, and that punch did hurt him. If Haye wasn't slipping, he would have made Barrett miss that punch IMO.
Anyone can hurt anyone at heavyweight if they connect.
Barrett was indeed a punching bag. He was dropping left, right and centre. The man even dropped in his ring entrance
Had Dempsey not dropped Willard 7 times in the first round and broken his face Willard would have retained his title.
Had Conn not got caught he would have won a decision over Louis.
"Haye slipped into a punch" is rather oxymoronic, i thought the whole point of slipping was to avoid punches? :boxing:
(i'm joking around - that just sounded funny)
lmao i forgot about the ring entrance. That shit was golden.
I personally don't think Haye is anything special.
He has good speed and power, and can box a little bit but thats it really.
The Valuev win was hardly a great achivement also, A 46 year old way past it Holyfield beat Valuev in similar fashion and to sum it all up, Valuev is one of the shittest heavy champs we have ever had.
Haye has got to do more to get credit for me.
lol aside from actually facing off vs eachother what would you suggest is a better way to compare the level they are at than a common opponent within a short period of time.
especially since that punching bag managed to hurt Haye now didn't he.
- i didn't say he'd beat Haye "no matter what" i said Solis along with the others mentioned are all reasonable opponents that could be capable of giving Haye a tough fight and possibly beating him. Which is accurate.

This guys just trying to save face. Hence him claiming things i never said. Of course Solis would be a reasonable opponent.
Yup, it's a common strategy, when you don't have something good to say, just make some shit up.

Haye won it for sure.
Valuev was shit VS Holyfield but there seemed to be more respect. There's an article I read where Valuev didn't really want Holyfield at first because of the age and respect.
Haye went there to win, he didn't want to get hit and robbed like Holyfield. He did his job. He hit without getting hit. Valuev was also trying hard to hit Haye for all the insults.
Haye is a very exciting fighter normally. He has raw power and is hungry to fight the best. Yes it has been slow lately but after he fights Ruiz, and I believe wins in an exciting way, he will try to get the big fights if the money is right.
He's not saying it's a foregone conclusion, but Solis is one of the guys that has a fair chance of beating Haye.
Thanks

really you gonna based what happen in the AM'S and how they beat the punching bag barret and take that as he can beat haye no matter what?

Oh yeah beating someone in the Amateurs obviously means you beat them in professional boxing. Yes, they are absolutley the same with no difference whatsoever.
Jesus...
Solis beat him in the Am's, has better boxing skill, & a punch to KO him. Comparing their recent showings vs Barrett, Solis destroyed Barrett worse (and didn't get hurt himself like Haye did) so its more than fair.

The fact that Haye is a legitimate threat for a title shows how weak the division is.
As opposed to the CW division where he was the undisputed champ?:thinking1:

At 45 as a blown up middleweight against a HW, okay.
I dont think the fight will happen either, as i cant see Haye wanting to take it as it does nothing to help his attempt to win the belts from the Klitschkos, or his HW resume.
Still, id like to see it as i think Haye would knock him out, and im not a big fan of Hopkins.
Okay what?
Hopkins has called Haye out and iv said id like to see them fight as id like to see Hopkins KO'ed.
Wouldn't happen. Hay already got KOed by a middleweight.

Im actually hoping Haye gives Hopkins his wish and fight Hopkins after Ruiz. I know it want do anything for his Heavyweight credentials, but id love to see Hopkins get KO'ed.
