Who else thinks that Martinez will beat Pavlik?

Pavlik is not a one armed fighter. He has lots of knockouts with his left hook to the body and head.

I can see him running into a big straight right hand eventually. From a pure middleweight too. He will definitely have his moments but I think it's gonna end bad for the Serge. Dude always gets me with the way he leaves his hands all the way down......just waiting for a bomb to catch him off guard.

I have Martinez being too slick and countering Kelly from the outside and winning a decision. Pavlik's power may be a big factor late though but boxing wise, Sergio has the tools

Pavlik is the betting favorite, but honestly martinez is faster and has better boxing skills. I'm personally favoring him to win this, but I wouldn't bet any real money on this fight.

One of the fights I'm most looking forward to this year. Leaning towards Martinez by UD, but I have a feeling Pavlik catches him late.

Well Martinez does have losses, and HASN'T had the big pay days... so, he is definitely going to take these money fights. He has nothing to lose undefeated record wise, and nothing to lose financially. Even if he loses, he is still making most likely double or triple what he has been making. I have martinez in this fight. If you can deal with a MOBILE 110 punches a round, you can deal with an immobile 90 or less punches a round. The only intangible here is Martinez' ability to handle Pavliks power. This is a lot like the Cotto-Pac fight for me... If Pac could handle Cottos power, then Pac would win. If Martinez can handle or stay away from pavliks power he will win, if he can't he will lose, possibly bad. im a big fan for both guys and im lookin forward to this bout Sergio HAS to be given props for taking on Williams and Pavlik back to back...that's ballsy wit that said, i can see a Martinez victory but he would need to make some adjustments; first, his stamina at 160...there were moments in the Williams fight where he was just gassed...he seemed to be on his 5th wind by the time that fight ended...if he can adjust and adapt to the extra pounds, it will do him more benefit than most people think...a 'fresh' sergio for 12 rounds is a nightmare for anyone second, i know its been his style and it's worked for the majority of his career but against a banger like Pavlik, he might not want to drop those hands as much as he's normally used to Pavlik has an underrated jab and more than those right hand bombs, his jab might be the key to this fight if he wants to keep Sergio at bay should be a great clash of styles....cant wait! Pavlik doesn't throw as much punches as Williams does and he doesnt pressure like Williams does either. Martinez will get a UD, maybe even a KO
