It's just that Abraham is lazy. He is also quite slow. He's never met anyone with the speed that Direll has.
Abraham does have the equalizer though :)
this fight should be tough but still even at that i'm leaning towards king arthur becuase he has the goods in his fists to make fighters like direll run for their live come fight night i like andre direel but he reminds me of junior jones he has all the talent and good skills but his legs will give out and his chin is not that great either
Abraham starts slow, and begins to pick up as his opponent tires; he conserves his energy and uses this to overpower and pick off opponents who've spent most of the fight hitting AA's gloves and forearms.
Dirrell needs to target the body to try and limit the effectiveness of this tactic, as well as conserving his own energy to be able to keep AA at bay in the later rounds. Dirrell has excellent speed and movement, so I can see him having success getting between AA's elbows, and moving around to get open angles at his flanks and head.
Dirrell also uses these two abilities to counterpunch VERy well, which will be an excellent idea for when AA opens his guard and begins throwing. If he can catch Abraham doing this then:
1. he will be scoring; hitting AA completely open will look great to the judges.
2. he will be doing damage - always a good thing!
3. he may, MAY be able to tag him hard/often enough to get him to be a little more reluctant to open up, and be more tentative to throw.
Basically, Dirrell needs to be SMART, and do damage efficiently and early, to maximise his chances in the later rounds.
That's how i see it.
Ive got Dirrell landing fast shots from the outside while moving in circles the entire fight... Abraham loses by being outworked 2 or 3 to 1... Abrahams only chance is to KO him. He is too flatfooted, and too defensive to keep up with someone like Dirrell. Abraham HAS to KO Dirrell to win, it's the only way I see it..
It's either going to be an Abraham KO or a Dirrell UD.
If Dirrell gets the UD I think, from what we'll see from him/how he gets the decision, it won't really be a hometown thing, i think he'll really earn it.
One half of me thinks this fight will be ugly and rather boring, another half of me thinks this will light up and we'll have hands abd bombs flying.
About a year ago, someone posted a thread asking who would be better, Andre Ward or Andre Dirrell. I got flamed for my answer - which was, Dirrell should be better but Ward would be better. Dirrell has all the skills but lacks a little something, something not so tangible. I'm curious to see how Abraham handles his power. If he can stomach it, he'll win by KO.
Either Abraham KO's him or Dirrell wins a hometown decision.
Though I'm going for AA, I think Dirrell could very well win a decision that's not a gift.
AA's handspeed is above average. His footspeed is like that of a snail sorry.
I agree he's fast when he wants to be, I think Dirrell matured tremendouly after his loss. Look for him to take advantage of Abrahams slow start and rack up the points. I wonder who has the better chin Froch or Abraham. Abraham has a cast Iron Jaw (literally) but he's going to have to start early and thats what will get him in trouble with the taller faster Dirrell.
what it is is they have the fluffy side of velcro on the canvas, and then they have the "hook" side on the soles of their boots.
I wasn't talking about that, I was talking about Dirrell agreeing to a smaller ring.....
Abraham could stop him at any stage, one decent clean shot and its all over imo.
The thing is though, Direll is a slippery bastard, he has great reflexes, i think it might not be a bad idea to concentrate on his body, because he is great at avoiding head shots, the body though? im not so sure.
In the Froch fight, I remember him using his defense off the ropes and doing a great job of avoiding Froch's body punches. Abraham is a lot different from Froch, though. I remember some of the body punches that Abraham landed on Taylor and you could just tell they hurt badly.
Dirrell's been down and hurt before so I think he needs to be fully focussed. He needs to run, potshot and don't get into any type of exchanges.
yo can bet your lunch money that Direll will agree to no such deal.
Velcro shoes, thats what would be the best thing.
I haven't even heard of that being proposed.
I was just telling you what the size of the ring will most likely be....
He never really has needed to has he from what i have seen.
the thing is though, the fight is in america, so i am expecting the ring to be one of the biggest i have ever seen.
Bernstein said that all rings in the Super Six will be 20X20.
However, Kessler and Ward agreed to use a smaller ring.....
If they had velcro shoes it would be an easy Abraham win, but im not sure he can keep up chasing Direll all night long, and i don't expect Direll to ever stop running in this one.
Abraham should be able to get to him at somepoint over the 12, froch couldnt but Arthur is more intelligant and technically sound, he should be able to cut off the ring at some point, and then it's good night Andre, on the other hand if direll fights perfectly he should be able to run rings around Abraham and win a ud.
I've never seen Abraham cut the ring, he will need to against Abraham. From what I've seen Froch is better at cutting the ring then Abraham is.
Not really King AA is KTFO Dirrell. When will people learn? AA has one of the best defenses in boxing, P4P was on the hardest punchers in boxing, incredible strong, and one of the smartest fighters in boxing. The more I think about it, the more I feel sorry for Andre Dirrell
I saw some weaknesses when he fought Taylor. He was standing in the middle of the ring with his guard up just looking to counter, I don't know too many boxers that do that, but that's not really a smart move because Abraham was wide open to the body.
Also he's much slower than Dirrell and Direll is a much more intelligent boxer then Taylor.
i love how if u go to the body of AA u hit elbows or get penalized for a low blow and if u go upstairs u hit leather
he wont have his german ref.....i hope................
but seriously......abraham's defense to the body is shit from a boxing standpoint......refs have been bailing him out....and he produces a lot of the low blows he gets caught with because he moves up and down when people are flurrying to his body....its his ****ing fault that he puts his nuts in the way of punches...
