Floyd Mayweather Jr ‘I live for Floyd Mayweather, I don’t live for the fans’
February 11, 9:11 PM Sacramento Fight Sports Examiner Rick Rockwell
I don’t think I could make up this stuff even if I tried. In a recent interview, Floyd Mayweather Jr demonstrated his self-fulfilling lifestyle by making it clear what his main goals are in life. Floyd stated that he only lives for himself and not for the fans. Let’s examine his comments further:
* “I live for Floyd Mayweather. I don’t live for the fans.” FMJ, ESPN 980 Washington DC
Is anyone surprised by these comments? I said in a recent article that Floyd is egotistical and that he can’t stop talking about himself. This is further proof of what and who Floyd cares about the most. It’s all about Floyd 24/7.
* “I love the fans but I live for myself. Self preservation is first.” FMJ, ESPN 980 Washington DC
Just when you think he might come to his senses and say something nice about the fans, he has to reiterate that he lives for himself and that it’s all about “self preservation”. This is what’s wrong with the world these days. Too many people are just living for themselves.
* “I must be happy first before I can make anybody else happy.” FMJ, ESPN 980 Washington DC
Wrong again Floyd. Helping others should come before satisfying selfish desires. I feel like someone must give Floyd a lesson in life on how to care about others. Does his selfishness have any limitations? Does he care about anyone but himself? Has he ever heard of the bible?
Bradley Higgins Sacramento CA “Rick get a life and quit writing about Floyd Mayweather. We all know you hate him”.
Bradley, I don’t hate Floyd. However, I do despise what he stands for and the criminal acts that he has committed. It disgusts me when men assault women like Floyd has done. It disgusts me when people only care about money which Floyd does. And I think it’s really disturbing that someone can live in a world with so many people in need and only talk or care about himself almost every time he does an interview.
Johnny Galen Sacramento, CA “You are obsessed with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Have you thought about getting mental help?”
Oh Johnny, it’s sad that you think I should get mental help when Mayweather makes comments like the ones I posted in this article. I’m the bad guy because I try to hold him accountable by calling him out on his hypocritical and egomaniacal ways? I tell you what; I’ll do a joint counseling session with Floyd when he’s ready to get help.

This is typical behavior by people who are egotistical. Shame.
I don't want floyd mayweather to live for the fans, I want floyd mayweather to make fights that the fans want. that is all we are asking for floyd. we just want you to make the fights we want to see happen. stop making excuses so that you don't have to fight the fights we wanna see.
As I've stated, in no way was I trying to point out Mayweather's supposed contradictions.....and by the way...he does do live for the fans....that's why he talks so much so he can get the attention whether it's good or bad....that's why he constantly talks about boxing dying if he goes away.
Good to know.
Your observation? Not sure it's one Floyd would disagree with. Hence...it in no way contradicts what he said, as I stated.

It's more of an observation.....do you like it?

Didn't this guy say we were suppose to support him like soldiers? While boxing is Mayweather's livelihood----it doesn't hurt to say he does it also for the fans...they do pay his bills by the way.
What you're saying in no way contradicts what he said.

i guess floyds being honest here then...

You must be kidding right? Don't you know that without the 100+ million supporters and fans the Pacman has garnered over the years, he would just be another boxer trying to make a meager living at this sport. Of course he lives for the fans. There is a high expectation of him in which he tries to fulfill each and every time he fights. His love for country and people is of the highest order. JAT
Lmao...
do you really believe that tripe you are shoveling? I really want to know
Pac is just as egotistical as Floyd, Pac just lies about it, whereas Floyd does not. A boxer needs to have an ego. Get over it.
I don't really give a hoot what Floyd Jr says generally speaking. I just don't like his style of boxing, period. It doesn't entertain me one bit. The only reason why I'll watch his fights is the thought of seeing him KTFO. I'm a Pac fan and I can live with Pac being KTFO one of these days. It happens. Ali the greatest lost some of his fights. The difference between Pac and Floyd is that Pac hasn't announced anything about retiring. Which means there's always hope for Pac haters to see him lose one of these days. On the other hand, Floyd is probably just two fights away from retiring for good. Which means people like me will never see the day he loses.
Having said that, the article, to me, at least, is not about Floyd, it's about his fans. It just basically says to Flomorons, stop complaining about who he fights and/or who he ducks. He doesn't care about what you want.
(I'd be interested to see him fight Malignaggi because their style is similar. I'd be happy to see one of them KTFO... No doubt, Floyd will beat Mosley. And Mosley will even make Marquez look better. The same story may happen between him and Pac. His ped testing demand may not even be necessary.)
I agree. How many FANS donated money to Tyson and Holyfield went they went broke.
Fukk the fans.
Exactly they will complain when they buy a PPV and the fight is a bit dull but when these two proud warriors go broke they don't give a fuk.
Your measly $59.99 does not entitle you to anything more than simply being able to watch the fight anything more is just an added bonus.
I hate Floyd but I have to agree with him here fuk boxing fans! When their not making up stories about one boxer being afraid of another they are coming up with fanatical expectations about how boxers are warriors and they should never quit on their stools because they are cheating fans if they do that.
It's nonsense like this that makes me feel that Boxing fans don't deserve a god damn thing from the boxers themselves.
lol at people backing floyd up and his selfish statements. It's definently whats wrong with the world.
Your a Pacquiao fan, do you seriously think he cares more about you than he does himself and his family's well being? Seriously? If you do your being dillusional, once again... he hasn't said he doesn't care about his fans, he has said on several occasions that he loves his fans, all he has said was that he cares about himself and his family more than he does his fans, why is that a bad thing.
I mean, do you care more about Pacquiao than you do yourself and your family?
Oh really last time i watched a vid its Mayweather Sr. whining because Floyd kick him out of the house and takes away his van???:bottle:
Floyd Jr and Floyd Sr were both as bad as each other... its just good to hear about them patching things up.
I don't care about all of the past crap, he cares about his kids, his mother, etc. more than he does his fans, thats common sense... I mean I am a Floyd fan, but I care for myself and my family more than I do him, and he will be exactly the same.
Your just trying to get negative about anything you can because you dislike him which is basically down to you being a Manny fan.
Get over it...
Floyd takes pride in what he does and wants to do it well, the point of Boxing is to hit and not get hit... Floyd represents that brilliantly, by barely getting touched all night.
Floyd hasn't said he doesn't care for his fans... people are twisting it around, he has said on many occasions that he loves his fans just like most fighters... all he has said is that he cares about hmself and his family more than his fans, which you can't blame him for.
Oh really last time i watched a vid its Mayweather Sr. whining because Floyd kick him out of the house and takes away his van???:bottle:
You're calling him a liar? Did you see his face after the fight?
Morales was hardcore. I know its hard for you pansies to understand this, but trust me, some guys ACTUALLY LIKE TO FIGHT.
Did I say that though? Of course he loved the sport, Floyd loves the sport and loves doing what he does, that is why he trains so hard.
I know its hard for you to understand this, but pretty much everybody puts themselves and there family before there fans.
