Who in your opinion is the better fighter, Amir Khan or Victor Ortiz?
I have heard Amir beat Victor in the amateurs, but they both have obviously came a long way since then. As impressive as Khan has been recently, I honestly think Ortiz is the better fighter. I have just checked out highlights of his most recent win on you tube, and its clear the maidana loss is in the past. I believe Ortiz has a very bright future ahead of him, maybe even brighter than Khans.
Khan himself is slowly developing power. With a strength coach like Ariza you would have to. I actually see Khan winning comfortable on points if they fought now. Later on in the future, who knows? The real fight for me is Devon VS Khan. Both are EXTREMELY young. Both are world champions, only we actually know more about Khan then we do Devon. I have to see how he fares against my favorite fighter Urango before i can tell whos better.:boxing:
as of now i woudl pick khan ... but actually if they were to fight i woudl favor ortiz. i just have no faith in khan picking all the punches off, ortiz does have heavy hands and khans chin is really bad ...
Victor Ortiz has more accurate punches with power and hes almost as fast as khan...people think that amir is better because he spars with pac but lets not forget Ortiz also sparred with pac when he was with top rank and he also sparred with an undrained de la hoya...thwlere is no doubt that Ortiz will land shots to khan's chin or anywhere...Ortiz has the power to knock anyone out and his punches are short...hes used to fighting taller guys like mausa and resto...if he fights khan I think his short punches will KO khan in 4 rounds...even with a freddie roach game plan Ortiz will win if you can't hurt him which khan can't do
Over skills wise I would back Khan here. But Khan might not be able to beat Ortiz. That is a question mark because it is hard to tell how Khan would stand up to a puncher.
altho im not a great Khan fan - chek out his amatuer record....
he actually already beat Victor Ortiz in the final of the Junior Olympics in 2003.... by stoppage too.... so i think that answers the question:

Thanks to everyone that replied.
Thanks for your reply, but If you read my whole thread i already stated that Khan beat Ortiz in the amateurs, but they have both come along way since then. Could you honestly see Khan stopping Ortiz in 2 rounds now?

still in the red i see
no surprise there kid
Red Green makes no difference to me. I don't give a shit. Telling the truth as I see it never makes one popular but at least I don't live in a dream world like some people who are in the green. I get the feeling there is a little club of gullible idiots greening eachother up anyway.
Both have BIG ??? Khan more so. Ortiz quit but Maidana was hitting him with a lot of concussive blows. Khan will hit him more often but not as hard and at the back of his mind he will know one good shot and the fight would be turned around. So I don't see him quitting against Khan someone like Valero would force him to quit but not Khan. Ortiz has more than enough power to KO Khan who has a poor chin. I don't think we really know how big Khan's heart is because he has not been in a really tough Maidana Ortiz brutal fight yet . He tried to get up after the Prescott knock downs so we know he will have a go but that is not the same as a constant brutal prolonged beating and keeping going. There is not much between them but if I had to lay a bet it would be on Ortiz winning by KO but if it went the distance i would give Khan the slight edge.

that's will be his downfall.
Well if it is, then so be it. I just think it's a shame to focus on the one negative aspect of his game, when there is so much more to appreciate. Phenomenal speed, good power, great footwork, good defence, stamina, heart, determination, confidence. Plus everything about Khan can still be improved.
Freddie Roach has improved Khan dramatically. His defence is now very good, and his natural talent has been crafted into world class boxing skill. Plus he can still improve to a much higher degree.
Khan is better than Ortiz at this point in his career and will probably remain so. Khan has it all (except the chin).

his chin will be just fine at 140 i feel
his defence has improved but still leaves a lot to be desired,he looks a bit rigid in there sometimes
