I don't think a win over Dirrell should propell Abraham into the top 10, but i agree with everybody saying that there are lesser deserved names already in there. Contoversy aside, Froch has already beaten Dirrell, KO'd Taylor before Arthur, and beat a better fighter in Pascal then other names on Abraham's resume. Will a Kessler win give talks of Froch being top 10? No chance, why, because people will say he was exposed and beaten by Ward, and Calzaghe beforehand. Froch beating Kessler will impress me a lot more then Arthur beating Dirrell. I think beating Dirrell, then Froch in their 3rd tournament fight will definitely put Abraham top 10. Winning the tournament deserves a top 5 placing. I still think Dirrell has the tools to beat Abraham, and hope he can pull off the win to throw the tournament into the open.

Lacy is done and hasn't had a meaningful win in ages.. The other guys are undefeated and in their primes.. You fail to address my point that even a marginal fighter can amass a lot of "top 50" victories without winning a fight of any significant meaning.

Abraham has 13 good wins, not against average fighters, but against top 10 and top 20 fighters. Jeff Lacy has 11 wins against top 50 opposition. Is he better than Bute or Cloud? Is he more deserving of a p4p ranking? Data can be misleading. Most anyone who is a top 5 fighter at their weight should be able to dominate the guys ranked 15-50. I don't care if someone goes 25-0 against guy ranked from 10-50. I'd rather see a guy go 6-1 fighting the 7 best guys at his weight.

I agree Carnivore. He should be in the P4P top 10. Caballero and Donaire do NOT have a better resume than Abraham. He should replace one of them. I'm not sure. There are a lot of damn good fighters on the fringe. Abraham needs to do something impressive. For instance Lucien Bute, Tavoris Cloud, Andre Berto or Timothy Bradley have just as good a case as Abraham with one more win. Hell Devon Alexander, if he beats Urango, will have unified titles by beating two established champions. In my book that's more impressive than AA beating a bunch of average fighters.

the ring will never put him on. they never put sven ottke on the list and he is the best super middleweight of all time. 21 title defenses, undefeated, unified titles, didn't duck glen johnson. complete dominance. they are just haters.

He is ranked #14 p4p by ring mag. He deserves more credit.

Arthur Abraham has defeated a lot of good top 10-25 middleweights: Taylor, Miranda x 2, Demers, Gevor, S. Taylor, Simon, Ikeke, Oral, Marquez, Elcock, Eastman and Jantuah. No, those guys were NOT bums - not elite fighters either, but good solid fighters. At least half of those boxers were in the Ring top ten rankings when they fought Abraham: Gevor, Eastman, Ikeke, Taylor, Miranda, Marquez and maybe more. He has yet to defeat an elite fighter, but his resume is much better than Caballero's and Donaire's. I agree Carnivore. He should be in the P4P top 10. That thread doesn't apply to anything here really, which is about official rankings. I said I go by my own rankings in the thread and still do 10 months later but now don't acknowledge P4P rankings at all anymore. In that thread I was just asking how ppl personally rank, you know as in do they rank independently or go by the official garbage. If you go by the official Ring stuff then you have to accept that they will rank based on official decisions and though many disagree with Froch winning, if you respect Ring you have to respect their ranking of him and Dirrell based on that decision regardless of how many ppl thought Dirrell won. Froch got the nod in a close fight, its over, move on. Ring has ranked him appropriately based on an official decision. Of course it does have to do with this thread Spray, that's silly.
