he should have just kept pumping the jab.
He was landing the jab with conviction the few times he threw, he was snapping Valero's head back and that's how the original bloody nose and cut near the eye happened. I'm very sad and disappointed about his performance tonight, very unlike DeMarco.
He was taking good shots from Valero, much better than any past opponent from Valero, the accumulation was too much though. Very disappointing performance from DeMarco, too tentative to throw, looked scared and zero aggression, I don't know if it's his trainers fault or what but very poor display from DeMarco.
Valero looked basically the same, if your opponent lets you do what you want it should basically look like that. Valero is obviously a much better fighter then DeMarco.
There are two ways to go against Valero one is you don't let him play the bully taking it to him instead or a fighter that knows how to box but not fight scared.
Valero's defense is not good, what aides him is he scares guys so they aligator arm shit. It is impossible to beat a guy like him fighting scared.
Very true Gamb. I don't know what got in to demarco. After he hit valero with a good shot in like round 6 or 7, he backtracked. I was like WTF?

IMO you missed Valero moving just out of range to make DeMarco miss his straight left and right hook and when he'd duck under the left also. He basically only got hit here and there, the only thing that landed somewhat consistently was Tony's jab.
Of course his defense needs help and can get better, but it's not garbage. There's more to it than blocking with gloves and shoulder rolling.
Valero looks a lot like Sergio Martinez in there, but Valero would never get called slick like he Martinez gets.
oh im not saying it's garbage
i just think that a weakness in his style tho. it's not horrible, its not bad, but for a champ steping up in compo it needs to get better
I thought Mexican fighters are wariors. I thought they never quit...
oh well... good one for valero...
But IMO Pac will still KO him...
agree. at this point, valero still is no match for the pacman.
so how he gonna do when he fight someone that can throw a punch...thats what im saying, what the point of trying to move in and out if you gonna get chaught with dumb shit? that tells me his defense needs work...demarco had many chances to hit valero but didn't
i don't care really what you think, i think his D need work. props for the win tho

Roach was ****ing right. Valero really set things up plus he got an underrated defense. This would have been a good if demarco let his hands go. tsk tsk tsk. Even with valero cut, he did not take advantage. Good night for valero. props.

he didnt quit it was his conner who stop the fight. he just said he was not happy his conner stop the fight
I must eat my words, Valero threw good combos and moved nicely but Pac would beat him for real. I'd be willing to bet all my points on that, it would actually be a good fight though

I don't think anyone honestly believes Valero is anywhere close to Pacquiao's level.
But I can understand the comparison, especially throwing so many punches from so many angles.

His corner stopped it but I agree the ****er looked like he never even got started tonight.
