simply remarkable career.he had 2 careers in one lifetime.his first career ended at 27 going 40-2.he came back after 10 years to resume his career.he went from a moody, hated, bully to a kind,merciful,well-liked gentleman.after he lost to jimmy young he saw god & retired & the rest is history.in his comeback he reinvented himself.he was calm, patient & developed his jab into a weapon.one of the best jabs ever.he fought 5 former world champs going 4-2 & was in 7 title fights going 5-2.he also lost his wbo title fight(before it was recognized).he fought chuvalo,Frazier twice,Ali,norton,Kyle, jimmy young, qawi, cooper, cooney,Holyfield,Stewart, coetzer,Morrison, moorer,Schulz, savarese,& Briggs.great career & an atg & icon of the sport...never did by his grill though.one of my favorites as well...once said lennox lewis' was the best ever...he said he ducked him in his comeback years & would have ducked him in his prime.
Its not to late for Audley Harrison, lol
haye vs Harrison could happen this summer if both win their next fights.they have bad blood & haye said he's open to the idea...it's mainly a payday for haye before he fights a rematch with valuev or a fight with either klitschko.it could be a decent fight in London & a good payday for both.haye I think will want a couple easier paychecks before he goes for the klitschkos.bank a few million before the big one.

it's funny you say that...if Harrison wins the European title in April & haye beats ruiz we may see haye vs audley in London in the summer.they have bad blood from a few years back.haye said he was open to it...could happen mainly for haye to get another decent payday before a valuev rematch or fights with either klitschko
A quarter of himself and winning a belt in the 90's tells you about the competition during that decade. Foreman is awesome in his prime.
I disagree.he beat Frazier & norton & lost to Ali but he never fought Tyson, bowe or lennox.foreman was pretty damn good in his comeback.the guys in the late 80's & 90's were bigger & better.I'd take lewis',Tyson,Holyfield, bowe anyday over Ali,Frazier, norton.
You may be right. Either way it was a silly statement, the same as saying that Pacquiao or Mayweather would have to go through Berto or some other title holder in order to be called pound for pound.
Basically I think people should take Foreman's word with a grain of salt. He says a lot of things but I'm not sure if he actually means them, or he says them in the heat of the moment and thinks later.
Yeah, it didn't make a TON of sense. But he was knocking people out Julian Jackson style at the time, which got a lot of people excited. It's easier to write page off after we saw that a terrible fighter in Six Heads ended his reign, but I do think he was considered a legitimate threat to the P4P welters at the time.
He didn't say James Page was P4P #1. He said that Page was a hell of a contender, and the guys ranked so highly on the P4P list needed to get in with someone dangerous like Page, or they weren't showing that they were P4P material.
I originally thought that is what he meant by that too... I started a thread named something to the effect of Foreman hitting the crack pipe.

Then again he also said that Audley Harrison would be the next heavyweight champion of the world and that James Page was number 1 pound for pound.

I'm surprised that they fit, must have been some pretty strong elastic.
It's too bad we got robbed of some Foreman/Holmes matchups, but I guess without the 10 year break he never would've fought till he was almost 50.
during the grimsley fight in japan, sean o'grady talked about holmes coming out of retirement for a tuneup fight that would lead to a fight with foreman.it never happened.holmes fought butterbean instead.
That's interesting that he said he ducked Lewis and would have done so even in his prime years.
He fought Ali, so that is some damn high praise for Lummox.

A little thing people might not know...those red trucks he wore in the moorer fight was the first time he wore them since the Ali fight...why did he decide to wear them that night? I'll never know
