I haven't seen anything about Clottey having started his training yet. I know Pac has and there are threads and photos and all the usual shite, but I still haven't heard any word of Clottey's trainer issues and whether he has even started training?
If he hasn't he will have a seriously difficult time just making weight let alone getting in any possible fighting condition for the biggest fight of his career. Not only did the trainer stuff stop him starting a week ago or two weeks ago or whenever it was, but even if all went smoothly he would have not had enough time to get in full, peak condition with the short amount of notice he had.
Clottey hadn't fought in ages, and Pac had only just had a fight with Cotto, so he won't have any trouble getting back in shape in five minutes. Clottey, on the other hand, would have needed a full training camp for this fight and he's only got a very, very short one as it stands. Maybe Arum etc realise this and that's why they are putting Pac in with Clottey? They know he won't be at full peak condition. I don't know.
I just hope he can at least have a half decent training camp, but, we will not see the best Clottey with such a short time to go.
I believe he is.
Edit: I was wrong, it was a different guy that was refused a visa but it was a Ronnie article so he might have been misinformed since the other article said that Kotey is the guy he wanted all along so this other guy might be a cornerman or something.

ya the way i remember the news coming out is clottey's trainer was rejected for a visa then they went with kotey. but i am going off memory ... hope it all works out well but seems like a lot is stacked up against clottey.
so was this the guy who was having the visa probs ?
I believe he is.

last i heard he started training in Brooklyn on his own...before the press conferences...however in an attempt to get his old trainer back...he has had to go back and forth to Ghana to sort the issue out and therefore hampering his training plans...ultimately he will train somewhere in Florida
http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=24934 thats where i heard about the trainer ... i read something else somewhere but i dont remember where
Yeah, it says that's the guy Clottey wanted to train him after he split with his last trainer.
the way i heard it clottey's trainers visa was rejected and they had to bring in someone else. they brought in a guy whos supposedly a well known trainer in ghana and used to train clottey approx 5yrs. ago. the camp just started not to long ago ...
I don't think so, the trainer he wanted to train him for this fight is the guy who is in Florida now.

Arum, that fat faced lying ****, should be the one going over to Ghana and sorting this shit out.
You can correct me on this.
Isnt that the Managers job? Arum is the promoter not the manager.
Boxingscene should really make an effort in tracking down Clottey and have a long, hard and unbiased look at his camp and set-up.
This doesn't look good for him, but let's get some facts on the table.
He has been training, but how good of a training camp could it be? He has been back and forth from the U.S. and Ghana, trying to get his trainer into the country. It looks like he has failed on that effort as well. He may lose badly come fight night, but I hope Im underestimating the camp he's having.
:wtf:
You serious? He hasn't been able to get his trainer out? **** that man. Why is he having to go over? Arum, that fat faced lying ****, should be the one going over to Ghana and sorting this shit out. The only reason he's not is because he knows it keeps Pac's chances higher and allows him to milk him for everything he can later after he wins this. Stupid ****! God, I hate that guy.
Damn it. I had hoped this would have been sorted. That's a real bummer. Why isn't there more publicity on this instead of Pac taking his second dump of the day? Ronnie that dumb cunt never sleeps.
:nonono:
Damn it. I'm angry now. Of course, no one will bring this type of thing up when Pac wins. Clottey having a month of training without his trainer and flying back and forth betwixt Ghana and the good ol' US of A just wouldn't effect him as much as Pac having ten mls of blood taken out 14 days before a fight, or his socks being itchy.
You know how it is? Those kind of things have a much more severe effect on fight night for Pac than do a lack of training and having no goddamned trainer do for Clottey! Pac can only lose by having blood taken or itchy socks, but Clottey not training without a trainer too, means nothing. Pac would win either way supposedly whereas Pac would have won if no blood had been taken and if he had special socks on. :lol1:
Bastards! Bastards! This is a damn conspiracy. Roach and Arum are behind this somehow.
