Cotto had to weigh 145 Pounds and apparently the 2 pounds didnt mean anything.
So I ask.
Why the fuss about Floyd weighing 146 I mean the 2 Pounds meant nothing right?

The two pounds wouldnt have made any difference but to fight a guy coming up nearly 2 divisions and not respect the fight terms is pretty low imo, cottos pound or two wouldnt have made any difference either and it was not good of pacs camp to make him lose them, so a black mark for both of them imo
Which was worse, floyds imo simply because jmm had only fought twice at 135 as far as i can remember then had to jump nearly two divisions and fight the best in floyd, a big ask and as it turns out far too big for jmm as it turned out
yeah pactards.. teaching of the floyd penis tells us floyd weighing 3 pounds more than JMM more is obviously equal to cotto weighing the same as manny:duh:
3 is equal to 0
yeah pactards.. why floyd having 3 pounds more than JMM is not nothing compare to cotto who was equal to the size of manny on weigh-in..
HELLOOOOOOOOOO FLOYD IS 3 pounds more while cotto is equal to pac.. therefore floyd = cotto.. got it?
we flomos are smart
take that!!
because it shows proof that the other fighter cheated by training in a higher weight compared to the other.
floyd trained hard and gained power with that weight on the training. being more comfortable to the weight he was.
marquez trained to gain power with the weight signed in the contract. little did he know that the weight we has training on did not helped him much on being comfortable with what speed he could possibly have compared to mayweather.
much like pac eh? with pac's catchweights, he has his obvious chance to be comfortable with the weight. for his opponent's, i think it is a fair-enough clause since they will gain more speed.
He was fighting a freaking lightweight. 144 was already a massive advantage for Mayweather, coming in overweight anyway was just unbelievable. That is just incredibly unfair. Cotto didn't have trouble making 145, it was a fair fight between Cotto and Pac.
One fight against an older, weight drained DLH does not a full fledged WW make.
Look at the size difference between the two:

Marquez, on the other hand, had never fought above 135, while Floyd has won a world title at 154.
The size diff is in height only....all other measurements were almost identical except for Cotto having a bigger waist..........
If Marquez moved up and fought Pac, would that have been acceptable? And Mayweather didn't pick on him, Marquez called Mayweather out.
That would depend on what weight they would fight. Also, it wasn't just Marquez who called Mayweather out. There was also MOSLEY. Not to mention there are other people who wanted to fight him like Cotto, Manny, Paul Williams etc. But Floyd decided to choose to fight the smallest fighter out there.
Heck, if he waited for just one day, he could have fought Manny right after the Manny/Hatton fight.
This is why I get confused wondering if you're really fucking stupid or just purposely trying to be funny Burner. Floyd had no business picking on a LW in a WW fight period. That fight was a disgrace even before he did not make the catchweight limit. Come on lad. This is thread is rubbish.

TS is seriously retarded or he got Floyd's dick so far up his ass he can';t think straight.
PAC fought a WELTERWEIGHT Cotto at a catchweight of 145.. That's only 1 pound Cotto had to lose since he weighed in at 146 against Clottey.
Floyd fought an old LIGHTWEIGHT at 146.
Floyd was wrong for not making the weight...end of story...
Bottom Line:
Regardless of weight Floyd would beat Marquez...regardless of weight Pacquiao would have beat Cotto...
well said
Burner, just :tapedshut

Didnt Pac already fight at WW before Cotto.

Floyd came in over the contracted weight against a much smaller man, plus he changed the contract at the last minute. That's that bitchassness that Floyd has exhibited his whole career.
That is why they invented the word CONTRACT, stupid.
Do we really expect Floyd Mayweather Jr. to clean up the sport of boxing like he is preaching now?
We've been through this so many times.
Marquez had 0 fights at or above 140
Marquez had 0 fights at or above 144
2 lbs means alot when the opponent who is already small for their current weight class is coming up another 2 divisions to fight an opponent is natural at 147, then it's a big deal.
if you guys want to play it off like it isnt, then you need to give Pacquiao full credit for the DLH and Cotto wins.
You can't have it one way. To further emphazise my point..
Because Cotto agreed to and made the 145 lb limit.
Floyd agreed to, but did not make, the 144 lb limit.
And I'm not mad at Floyd, I just don't give him much credit for fighting a much smaller, older, slower fighter in a fight where Floyd didn't even bother making weight.
Pac was fighting the much larger Cotto. The two pounds was to make the fight more fair.
Why did Floyd need any further advantage over Marquez?

Those people are not mad at the 2lbs but the way pbf rescind out of a gentleman's agreement. It was contracted at 144. He cannot make it and asked Jmm's team for their approval in modification of the contracted weight to 147 and an additional of 300k per lb in excess. Jmm agreed . He had no choice (career payday and a chance to beat pbf and a chance to get pac after it ). But all the while he thought he was training for a 144lb fighter. It should at least even out the already very big odds.
